Forums - Gaming Discussion - Little big planet 2 a mario killer?

Little big planet has amazing graphics and awesome online. Do you think little big planet 2 (ps3) will kill all the sales for all the mario games?

The make your own level feature makes me think that nobody will want to play mario after they play lbp.

What do you guys think?

can the "killer" term stop?

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

no

Just so I don't violate forum rules, I'll add this line before my answer.

No, and just no.

Is this a serious question?

No.

I too wish the "killer" term would just stop.

Mario is also a household name. You are not "killing" him.

You can't even begin to compare Mario to LBP. (By "compare" I mean that they're too different to be in competition with each other)

That being said, yes, I'm sure that LBP will cause every subsequent Mario game to sell 0 copies.

Considering LBP has sold barely two million, while Super Mario Galaxy has sold almost eight, and taking into account that most of the people who buy LBP2 are fans of the original, I think we can all agree the answer is no.
