Let this be the official "members of VGChartz come put your review of Killzone 2 in here" thread. List what you like about the game, or what you dislike. What you think needs improvement, or what already excells past your expectations. Did you enjoy the online modes? See anything you didn't want, or perhaps notice the lack of something you did want?
I'll start:
The good:
The graphics are amazing! The blend between gameplay and in-engine cinematic is almost unnoticeable! There are pleny of times I thought to myself, is this scene a photograph or actually the game?!
The lighting and particle effects are insne. Explosions, smoke, light coming through the windows, all look so realistic and beyond anything I've seen on a console before!
The gameplay is very fun, but still a typical shooter. I think I will have to buy a dual shock controller just to fully enjoy all these explosions and gunfire!
The controls are great! Almost identical to Call of Duty when using Alternate 2 and the only thing I'm not comfortable with so far is the crouch and zoom being right next to each other.
I actually am really impressed and enjoy the realistic "weight" feel when jumping and running.
The not so good:
The slight delay from button press to action on screen is still there, but luckily is not noticeable unless you are really paying attention or firing bursts. The only real problem I have had with this is when trying to melee as it will be quite delayed and I will hit the button multiple times, so it continues on with the action even after I've stopped pressing the button.
The sensitivity and how the aiming accelerates/decelerates is a bit annoying, but I'm getting used to it. It just makes my aiming a lot less precise than what I'm used to.
I wish there would have been an install because while the loading bits aren't too big to take away from gameplay, then can get annoying. I have had one pause of nearly 3 seconds when playing the first few missions. I also don't understand how it pre-loads for a small hallway, and then 3 seconds later it had to pre-load again before I left the hallway. I think a simple 1-2gig install may have helped, but again, this doesn't hurt the game much at all and is still fully enjoyable.
What are your thoughts?
