A few days ago I called my nearest gamestop where I preordered my copy of Killzone 2 and asked if they were going to be having a midnight release of K2. The employee I was speaking too told me to call back yesterday and see then but before I called them yesterday I got a voice message on my phone saying that there would be a midnight release of K2. I was extatic. Well, I went to the gamestop tonight to pick up my copy at around 11:30 and the store was closed. I was surprised but decided to try another gamestop 15 minutes away and to see if they were having a midnight release so I could get a copy and they too were closed. Those are the only two Gamestops close to me besides a gamestop in my local mall that I never visit. So why then did I get a call saying that there would be a midnight release? Not only was it a waste of my time but a waste of my gas and on top of that an increadible let down.

Anyone else have something simular happen?

That's why its probably better to find a local indy dealer that you can befriend..My coworker went to one that he knows so we could get it a day early and it turns out we could have gotten it from him since wednesday, oh well :P we both were able to snag a copy at least

Was that the call that went out saying there would be midnight launches at select gamestops? It also said to call and confirm with your local ones before showing up to a closed store.

Yes some dude that called asked me if we were having a midnight launch I told him to call back the next day, but I actually left a voice mail on his phone telling him we were having a midnight launch, I bet he's pissed now :)

I'm getting annoyed by them also I called them today a girl answered the phone I asked her will they have the copies of KZ2 in the morning when they open? she replied "maybe" I was like what the hell was the point me reserving the game. So hung up and called back this time a guy answered the phone. I asked him the same question and he said that they already have copies of the game in the back but they cant sell it until the 27th. Thank You very much and fire the girl.

You don't talk to girls much, do you? They always dance around with their answer. You need to make small talk with them for at least 5 minutes before asking a yes/no question. It's like... foreplay.

my friend walked into a 24/7 walmart at midnight and bought a copy. That seems top be a source people always forget.
