Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dead Space 2 in the works.

Easy people, they need to finish Dante's Inferno first.

Good news still though, I just hope they make the game more scary and give it a better end game boss. It wasn't really that scary, and the end boss was so easy to defeat (IMA-SHOW-YOU-MA-WEAKSPOT!)

@outlawauron: I didn't mean that, although it is true that EA didn't (and doesn't) seem too excited about Dead Space's sales.

My point is, why not putting this game on the Wii as well? I played the 360 demo and saw trailers and video reviews of the game, and frankly didn't see anything that can't be done on the Wii, with a slight graphical downgrade...

Heh, I think it would take a whole lot of work for them to do a port. And it is. In order to make the graphics for the Wii version slightly comparably to the HD counterparts, they had to make it on rails.

If it were an TPS, then I'd say it would look a whole lot worse than the Dead Space Wii looks now.

And I think the reason for the lack of a Wii port has to do with that the devs don't know how to do a Wii version. They finished Dead Space and now they're working on Dante's Inferno and Dead Space 2. Another studio is handling the Wii port and they'd be the ones to port the second one as well.

But why do the graphics need to be comparable to the HD versions? Isn't it more than proven that people buy Wii games even if they don't look as good as PS360 versions? A good example, Call of Duty Wii which is proving to have legs.

Regarding your last paragraph, you may be right. If that's the case, they better start learning soon.

They don't. I'm just responding to you saying that it wouldn't take much work to do a Wii port. I'm saying they have to either change the game or completely work the system. You get something like Dead Space Wii or Dead Rising Wii.

And comparably, COD: WaW Wii legs aren't too great.

Well I knew they would make one, but confirmation is always good. I would very much like to explore the dead space universe a second time around.

Why bring up Dead Rising, one of the worst ports? There are better ports which prove that it's not that hard to make PS360->Wii transitions with good results. Dead Space seems smaller in scale than a lot of those ports, so I don't think it would be among the hardest games to port to the Wii.

Regarding sales, it seems the Wii version of COD sold more than enough to make a profit, which is really what EA should be looking for too.

I just thought a game that has lots of zombies. Although, I think Dead Space has a whole lot more going on and the zombies are a lot smarter and faster.

EA hasnt really greenlighted this project yet from reading that. It seems that it is in the proposing stage. EA wasnt very happy with the sales of the first one so this proposal better be one hell of a pitch.
