FF7 is indeed timeless. I dare twestern or anyone that doesn't believe that to respond to this because I know they can't resist bashing FF7 any chance they get. Learn to let go of the dogma, it's old and it reeks of horribleness.

I would say it is tied with Chrono Trigger as best RPG ever.

I completely agree, there will never be an rpg that comes close to Chrono Trigger! or any other game for that matter.

It certainly has a special place in my heart. Would be really hard to decide a best game, but one of the ones up there for me.

For me,a veteran gamer that loves all gaming genres,I have to say that YES.

This game made me think about NEVER left this hobby,even if I get 90 years (and if I live until then )

The story,ambient,characters, soundtrack,espers..........all,everything deploy MAGIC.
The only game capable to scratch its epicness and awesomness is Chrono Trigger.

Though For greatest game i'd personnaly put Zelda in front :p (and most people would also put a mario up there).

It's my fav RPG that's for sure (haven't played xenogears or the DQs yet though)

great list, all reasons to love FFVI... I think there were moogles in FFV though :p (not sure... my bigest memory of 5 is the dragoon class that rocked =)
