Funny how so many people can say they dont like the PS2/3 controller only to say the design is great when nintendo makes it wired.

To be honest, I've never heard of people (or atleast not many) complaining about the PS2/3 controllers. :/

The intresting thing (at least in my oppinion) is, that just two days ago a new disease was discovered and named "PlayStation palmar hidradenitis". And it seems it is caused by the PS3 controller. So people don't complain about the controller ...  they just get sick. (And if I say people, than I mean just one 10 year old girl.)

I guess it should be useful to note that there are ZERO new buttons on that thing. 2 repositioned buttons maybe, but still the same number.

No, they made a weird version of the GC controller.



Personally I'm not a fan of the classic controller buttons as much as the GC buttons. I prefer one stick too.

The GC controller is amazing :3

Uh it looks like a dualshock to me with the gamecubes handles. the button layout is the exact same as the dualshock and completely different other then the C stick for the game cubes.

You could argue that the dual shock ripped off the Snes controller and added analogue sticks though.

 

Have a look at this even more obnoxiously large picture of a controller:



It's an Atari 2600 joystick.  Clearly you can see the same general principles at work here: directional movement and one or more buttons.

Thats because Sony have not changed it at all over the 3 systems. Ofcourse they stole the analogue stick to begin with from Nintendo, but thats irrelivent

On topic, its good, anything to make the traditional controller more comfortable is a good idea. Not that it matters to many since we use the wiimote

 

 And now nintendo stole the general controller design, the l2 r2 buttons and the ekstra analogue. The circle is complete

Why do they go back on design? N64 had a great feel for it's time, GC was great too (besides the D pad which was horrible.).

why don't they keep the GC and improve the D pad :/
