Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WHat is the most important thing HVS should add to The Conduit online?

What do you think is most important to add to the online interface? Usually for these type of things the little things are what matter most. Also so far I have never seen a Nintendo online game allow you to group up with friends then play with them against randomly matched players.

Some ideas I have include:

1. As I said, play with friends and ranked players at the same time.

2. That when you turn on the Conduit it starts to automatically connect to the online service.

3. That at anytime you can add any person you want as a friend (yes we all know we have to use FCs but there can be an FC thats covered by a screen name), when your playing or you check your list of last seen players or you simply type their FC or screename into a search.

4. A lobby system so grouping with friends and ranked players is easy and you can add filters.

5. That you can choose which mode you want  (Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag).

6. Online leaderboards that connect to a specific website that further tracks your stats.

7. I know Nintendo foolishly denied it but i really want LAN.

8. Having a universal menu that holds your friend list(you can tag players as rivals), ignored list, list of last 100 people you have played, it will having a messaging system where you can send messages to anyone(via Wiimote or keyboard) or a voice message with wii speak, use Wii speak to set up channels, and for sending game invites.

9. In game clans supported by a website would be sweet.

10. Ranking system that gives you exp and you go up in rank. A number rank is also given and it can boost your rank but if you lose it only lowers the number rank.

11. No lag--duh.

12. Fast matchmaking whether its with a menu or a lobby or both.

13. I know its already been stopped by Nintendo but wii speak should be able to speak to everyone not just friends.

Eric Nosfinger Im looking at you man...

Basically make it as easy as Mario Kart Wii, so fast random and lobby connections.

I'm absolutely very happy with the Wii Speak only for friends option. I stopped using my 360 headphone because of all the idiots on the other side of the connection.

The option to add anyone in a lobby to your Conduit FC list right away would be very nice (iirc that's also in MK).

But basically no lag + easy connection is everything I really want, the rest is bonus.

Split screen online (like Mario Kart).

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

that is what a console shines at.... otherwise might as well play the PC.

MK has it nice by having split for both online and offline.

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

the one thing thats been missing from all wii online non nintendo games - players.

I've bought a few non nintendo online wii games (here's looking at you pro ev 08) and can never find any players online.

If they have to reduce a feature to add one of the ones you mention, I don't mind friends only Wii Speak. =P

...Like BengaBenga said, I too got turned off on voice chat. When I tried on it on PC I was like, "naww not for me." Then I tried it on Xbox and was like 2X worst...

The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!

...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

TRUTH! If it wasn't for MoM:H2, or COD:WaW I would think that online was charade! lol

I just want balanced weapons, a smooth online system and a level up system.

Add me for Pokemon, New Leaf, and Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8.

- See if friends are in a game already or other info (Icon color)
- Join them in the lobby they are in.
- see Friend invitations on the periphery of the screen and not dead center ala COD WAW Wii, then choose to join in a separate menu.
- be able to spectate so you dont get kicked out of the server for inactivity of 5 mins
- have modes where its 7 on 9, 1 on 15 based on someone's rank/skill.
- have some way of communication other than WiiSpeak ala MOHH2 but useful ("Theyre flanking us left", "He's on your 6!!")
- A room for chatting with friends to set up games

That is all I can think of now. Well that and they better have wicked awesome Maps at least as good as COD WAW Wii. NOT MOHH2.

Thats nice that you dont like hearing other people online but all you would need for that is a mute function. Stopping people from communicating with their teammates just because you dont know them is lame and if you dont like to hear them mute them. Its lame Nintendo is enforcing unneccessary limits.

Also I love the spectator idea. It was in SSBB but they completely messed up by not letting you spectate your own friends matches! Also I to would love to have the flexibility to switch the game options so its 1 vs 15 if you really wanted to. Thats the sort of streamlined experience it needs to be.
