Forums - PC Discussion - PC Puzzle Quest: Galactrix is proof PC gaming is worse than console gaming

If i like a PC game, i buy it.
I never had to worry about NTSC or Pal versions.
I don't want to think about region codes.
I don't have to wait because a game is released later in Europe. Or never.

I'm not really sure how this discussion has gone on for so long.  PC gaming doesn't take anything hardcore, it just happens to be another use for the greatest invention mankind has to offer.

Anyways, saying that games that are dominant on the PC are ones that don't work well on consoles is a bit ridiculous.  For RTS games, I'd agree with you on that front: the best consoles have to offer are mediocre at best.  On the other hand let's take a look at FPS games.  The consoles do well with them, albeit they're running rampant on PCs as well.  I would contend that as a general rule FPS games are far superior on PC, but they still appear will great frequency on every system since N64, despite the fact that customization, control, and competitive play pale in comparison to PC gaming.

It seems like you're just trying to underscore PC gaming because you have a gripe with what is a badly reviewed game anyways.  I doubt the PC is to blame for your woes.  More likely, it's the developer who didn't seem to put enough time and effort into the game.

Asinine topic is asinine.

PC gaming is much farther along albeit not as accessable (Stalker: SOC would probably chew most console only gamers up and make them cry like little girls, and from what I have seen, console guys can't even comprehend that Arma2 does look that good in game). But honestly, a retarded ape can get most stuff to run on a pc through the usual avenues of troubleshooting (driver updates etc).

And you can't tell me that console games come from the devs as spotless, bug free experiences. Especially not now. Heck KZ2 has some broken stuff in it and it was in development for how long? There are many instances of games that lock up, corrupt saves, and make it so you can't even finish some times on consoles. Guess what? Much like PC games, they get patched to work right.

In fact...you're going to be in for a rough ride. Even some non-gaming devices are starting to need firmware updates from time to time.

There are games that have interface issues that make them inferiro experience on consoles.  Games with point and click interfaces are better suited for PCs at this point and time.  This is a major reason why you don't see them on consoles.  Well, you do see them on at least ONE console.  That console, which is a handheld, is a DS.  Top-end titles, for compatibility issues, and also piracy, have a preference to end up being on consoles.  An exception now is massive-multiplayer online titles.

With PCs gaming, outside of those who buy Alienware computers, or other high-end PCs (or make their own), it is another use for them.  PC gaming goes along for the ride, in the same way it goes along for a ride on cell phones.

And do take FPS titles.  They are done competently on consoles, which is why almost all major releases of FPS are also done on consoles.  PCs still are argued to have a superior interface, and do provide a chance at modding.  But, in this area, you have seen known top FPS franchises only be done on consoles.

If i want back the comfort consoles offer, i'll reinstall my MSDOS 6.22.

You could always go to the Run command on the start button in Windows XP and enter:

cmd

or

command

That's not exactly MSDOs 6.22, and, unfortunately, it's still more comfortable than my XBox. Maybe i have to go back further.

You could go back to a Commodore 64 with a tape drive.

Or you could keep playing on the sexy modern PC you have.
