At this point it's almost a given that Sony will not catch the 360 in America. On the bright side Europe is theirs for the taking and Japan is in the bag. Obviously I'm just talking about 360vs PS3.

Seems the other way round to me, PS3 was ahead until September last year in Europe but now is always falling behind the 360 on hardware and software sales, Europe is being taken by Wii and 360 not PS3, PS3 is losing in EU year on year and is down most weeks lol.

I know that the wii is obviously dominating and I made a point to recognise that but you seemed to have either missed it or ignored it.

When I said Europe is theirs for the taking I'm thinking of the big picture and not just the last several months. The fact that the PS3 can even keep up with the 360 in Europe despite the huge price advantage the 360 holds at the moment is a testiment to the PS3's popularity in that continent.

Time will tell but I am confident there will be a big reversal in Europe when it comes to 360 and PS3 sales in the not too distant future.

A price advantage?

He thinks the PS3 needs a price advantage to beat the 360?

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but wasn't a $400 PS3 outselling a $300 360?

Indeed it was. And in Europe the price advantage is ridiculous. 170 Euros for a 360 and 400 for a PS3 if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, the ps3 WAS out selling the 360 in Europe, not anymore and not since September 2008 (360 outselling ps3 six months solid this March, not once has the ps3 overtook it in this space of time), this is why the PS3 urgently needs a price cut in Europe before it is too late for the PS3 to recover, it's reputation is already at it's lowest point across Europe, it's sales are falling year on year while the 360's is at record highs for the region, the longer it takes for a price cut the more 360's and wii's will be sold, simple as that....

Don't say it too loud, the day after he'd come out with his new astonishing analysis titled "Recent studies show that most human males have two balls"

At this point I think the PS3 may need more than simply a price cut.

A cut combined with several big games releases could do?

This is all a scam people! Since what Patcher says is the opposite of whats going to happen, he is now saying that xbox360 will win. In that way his original prediction of ps3 winning this generation will come true!

I'm not saying it doesn't need a price cut. It does.

What it doesn't need is a price advantage. A $300 PS3 would outsell a $200 X360 in Europe and Japan, and possibly even in North America. The Wii will still be far ahead of both, though.
