Because you don't have any. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof and knowing the demographics of a consumer product like the X360 is an extraordinary claim. Tell me, coonana... in your deliberations about the X360 userbase, did you consider the age distribution? the education distribution? the ethnic bias? income level? Tell us, coonana.. what do you know about the X360 demographic. It should be easy for you, isn't it so general and obvious?

Final Fantasy XIII, announced as ps3 exclusive, no longer? Assassins Creed, announced as ps3 exclusive, no longer? The barrage of announcements for the ps3 in 2005 and 2006 that never happened? It's not "some people" who said the 360 and the Wii were the underdogs, it was the very people that decide what games become a reality and which games don't. Publishers, developers... people who's own decisions are tied to the future of the products they create - they bet on the ps3.

Until, of course... 599 US Dollars.

Again, DO YOU DISAGREE WITH ME ON ITS DEMOGRAPHIC? If you dont I dont feel like finding the necessary evidence. If it was something pivitol to the discussion I would understand your complaint, but seeing as you are simply doing this to divert unanswered points i have brought up I will not.

What do you mean they never happened? Part of the reaason Sony fell was because MS got these to at the very least be multiplatform or even exclusive alot of these deals went down before, during, and after launch. They obviously did not bet on the PS3 because most of these games went to 360...with better framerates. Look alot of reasons attributed to Sony losing console king (MS major effort to penetrate the market with its NON underdog tendencies, Sony making a crapload of mistakes, 599 price tag and so on) not one of them gives us reason to think that it was 360 as an underdog, but as a major entity that is hard to compete with.

Again you still dont even acknowledge half the things I say and have not said one thing that I cannot refute completely about the 360 being an underdog.

You come here talking big, claiming to know the 360 demographic, attempting to pass opinion as facts and you get all pissy about it? Retract your statements about the 360 demographic because it is obvious you have no knowledge of it. That's been proven by your refusal to even talk about it.

Yep, these games went to the 360... AFTER THE RACE STARTED! Which means, before the race started, that the 360 was not expected to win. Hence why both the 360 and the Wii are the underdogs of this generation.

See, you do not understand yet that underdog refers to the expected outcome of something before it begins. Whatever arguments you bring are past that point. You have yet to grasp the concept of underdog.

And we are still walking about your enlightened discourse about something plain, and obvious... the 360 demographics. We still are waiting for you to tell us all the facts about it that led you to make a statement about it. It's been god knows how many posts and you still haven't done anything besides attempting to stonewall and sidestep this single issue about your discourse.

This is not gamefaqs, we won't let people like you make blanket statements without backing them. Something at which you have been failing the whole thread.

I agree with Bitmap. The 360 and Wii were widely viewed as underdogs.

Before the price was revealed, jokes about Ninty going third party were common. And the utter disaster the first xbox was didn't bolster much confidence about its successor neither.

No, first tell me why I need to. I dont go through the little motions of forum goers unless I have a reason. Tell me why stating something as simple as a demographic is so important and maybe I will bring up the information. For something like a demographic you dont just bring up a link. You have to show analyst articles sales of big and failed games and so on. Why should I go through all of this? If I made a statement more relevant to the topic and THEN I did not back it up then your whining would hold some weight. Tell me what is so bad about this statement, does it offend you that there casualcores and hardcore on the 360? DO you think that there are not a significant amount of hardcores/casualcores on the system?

Im not even going to talk about anything else until you tell me how it releates to what were talking about in a significant way because its obvious your using as a ploy. Also WHY did you mention gamefaqs, ive never posted there... Besides that its probably messed up to make such a generilzation.

Sweet, sweet irony.

Why are you so defensive? Why are you trying to make this about why I ask about your knowledge of something you are talking about? I mean, we've been going at it for several posts... it would have been much easier to just explain your knowledge of the 360 demographics that led you to a conclusion. Now you are trying to go meta.

Well, not taking the bait. After you said "the 360 demographic is general and obvious" you still won't answer questions about the 360 demographic. Maybe it isn't so general and obvious? Maybe you had no knowledge about it when you made your statement about it?

You ask if I disagree with you... but there's a previous question: is your statement worth disagreeing? In other words, is such a statement based on solid knowledge? Until that question is answered, no further deliberation is needed. And you still haven't provided any answer.

Tell us coonana... do you even know anything about the 360 demographics?

Ah, I see you dropped the underdog issue. Well done. You are no longer pretending to defend that the ps2 didn't compete with the 360 in 2006. Now just one more to go and we'll be done with this.

@jaggedsac: yeah, this guy's a riot. This thread makes me remember BAUT, alas I'm no JayUtah T_T

Alright Ill take this one slow for you. What I said was not an insult, what Bitmap Frogs said was, so I fail to see the irony.

 Im not being defensive...

No see as I told you, I am not going to do something because your "will" demands it. I only will do it if there was a reason, seeing as YOU dont have one, Im not going to. Im sorry your not getting your way but if your so interested in the subject study it youself. If you think calling that I was insulting a fanbase, that Im part of by the way, then your oversensitive and you misunderstood me. Its general and obvious to know what demographics dominate each console. It was not directed at the 360 market and even if it was...chill out.

Did I say I dropped the underdog issue? No so stop putting words in mouth. And concerning the ps2 and 360 competing appearantly you do not keep information in your brain very well because I said they competed but its not the same if you cannot see that difference it must be related to the fact that you cant keep information in your brain. I dont know appearantly Im a riot because you seem unable to present a good arguement so you avoid it by making a big deal out of side statements like demographics.
