UnReal News

Philips has announced three new Blu-ray Disc players which are being added to their high definition electronics line-up in Europe. The first one out of the gate will be the Philips BDP7300, which is due to hit store shelves in March, is a BD-Live player capable of playing video at 1080p24 and decoding all Blu-ray audio codecs, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. It is expected to retail for 300 euros.

The Philips BD3000 and Philips BD5000, which are due later this year, will also be BD-Live compatible, but will not feature all the bells and whistles of the more expensive model. These two players are expected to retail at 200 and 250 euros respectively.

There is actually a forth Blu-ray player in the pipeline, the Philips BDP9100, that will be compatible with Philips upcoming 21:9 displays. No additional information regarding that player was available at time of report.
