I don't know about the demo because I havent played it, but I can speak as a long-time Burnout fan, having played and loved Burnout 2, 3, Revenge and now Paradise. Being as I am a long-standing fan, it is difficult to come to terms with how much Paradise mixes things up; certainly, after the first few races, you long for the way things were, you wonder why they had to be so ambitious. But you owe it to yourself as a Burnout fan to try it. Once you get your head around the map a little, start getting the feel for navigating and learning which way to go, it becomes more like the Burnout you remember, fast, adrenaline-infused, aggressive racing with an onus on takedowns accompanied by an amazing soundtrack. So you certainly can enjoy Paradise a lot, especially if you buy the Ultimate Box now, with all the DLC and improvements in the mix. It won't live up to the old Burnouts, it just wont, and even after 30 hours, you dont feel wholly comfortable with the whole concept, but doubts be damned, it IS Burnout and it is pretty damn good.
