Forums - Gaming Discussion - For those who have played both Burnout Revenge & Paradise?

I found it difficult to get into the Burnout Paradise demo so I want some opinions of people that have owned and played both games.

Now I know I will never love Paradise as much as Revenge (probably my most fav game of all time) but I want to like it, in fear Burnout 6 is going to be like Paradise. Does the demo give a good scope on the full game? can you get into it more after a few races? just give me your general opinion. Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the demo because I havent played it, but I can speak as a long-time Burnout fan, having played and loved Burnout 2, 3, Revenge and now Paradise. Being as I am a long-standing fan, it is difficult to come to terms with how much Paradise mixes things up; certainly, after the first few races, you long for the way things were, you wonder why they had to be so ambitious. But you owe it to yourself as a Burnout fan to try it. Once you get your head around the map a little, start getting the feel for navigating and learning which way to go, it becomes more like the Burnout you remember, fast, adrenaline-infused, aggressive racing with an onus on takedowns accompanied by an amazing soundtrack. So you certainly can enjoy Paradise a lot, especially if you buy the Ultimate Box now, with all the DLC and improvements in the mix. It won't live up to the old Burnouts, it just wont, and even after 30 hours, you dont feel wholly comfortable with the whole concept, but doubts be damned, it IS Burnout and it is pretty damn good.

Burnout Paradise is great ( The demo is poor imo ), there is so much to do, the online is flawless too

It's much different, but I actually think overall it's an improvement. I think a few more compromises or options should be made for those that loved the older style in it's sequel though. Part of the fun of this new game is learning the ins and outs of the city and discovering everything it offers. Plus you absolutely need to play as the bikes. We're talking about a $30 game here that offers anywhere between 30-50 hours of gameplay so I would say it's well worth your money. The demo does not well represent the game, as most demos don't.

This.

I own Burnout Revenge for my Xbox and for my 360 and completed it several times.

Paradise is good, but with open world races (where you need to look at the map all the time) and a mediocre crah mode, it can't stand up to the previous Burnout games.

Well I DL the demo when it was available and hated the game. I finally bought it a few weeks after and I enjoyed it. It's not as good as revenge, but with the moto and the night races it's a cool game.

So yeah, you should buy it, and you'll probably get into it ^^

Thanks guys, I think I'll pick up the Ultimate Box, bikes sound pretty cool!!
