2K Games

08/21/07 US, 08/24/07 EU, 08/24/07 AU, 01/10/08 AS, 02/21/08 JP

Going beyond "run and gun corridors," "monster-closet AIs" and static worlds, BioShock creates a living, unique and unpredictable FPS experience. After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn. Take control of your world by hacking mechanical devices, commandeering security turrets and crafting unique items critical to your very survival. Upgrade your weapons with ionic gels, explosives and toxins to customize them to the enemy and environment. Genetically modify your body through dozens of Plasmid Stations scattered throughout the city, empowering you with fantastic and often grotesque abilities. Explore a living world powered by Ecological A.I., where the inhabitants have interesting and consequential relationships with one another that impact your gameplay experience. Experience truly next generation graphics that vividly illustrate the forlorn art deco city, highlighted by the most detailed and realistic water effects ever developed in a video game. Make meaningful choices and mature decisions, ultimately culminating in the grand question: do you exploit the innocent survivors of Rapture...or save them?

Around the Network

I will be adding screenies if people like the list and want it to continue.

Yeah its a great list but Lips deserves a mention for the casual list :(

Great list, though with the DLC section Burnout definitely deserves a mention for all the free content, and tons of upcoming packs

Some small points, which matter little, but I would certainly put Burnout Paradise above Burnout Revenge, and Mass Effect should be far higher on the WRPG list

Cool thanks for your comments.

I wasnt really rank ordering them, they are all the top 5 games I feel most people agree with. When it comes to such good games, its always down to taste which is the best.

As for the Burnout DLC, dont new owners get all of it with the Ultimate Box? If the upcoming ones are really good, Ill update it.

As for Lips. Hmm well true, but I wanted to make it top 5 each so that it doesnt get too big. Lips probably comes in at no. 6 in my opinion. Ill keep it in mind though. Uno seems old so I may replace it with Lips.

Around the Network

Ok sounds cool :) and good man for putting Burnout Revenge in there! Its by far the best Burnout.

Ultimate box gets all the free DLC + the party pack, there are legendary cars, toy cars, boost specials, cops and robbers, big surf island packs coming this year as well

Great list, I agree with everything, but listen to Munkeh111 about ordering them. Id wanna see Assassin's Creed a bit higher.

Also, Im not sure if people agree with me but Kameo is such a gem that it deserves to be on the list.

Agree?

Nm lol, dont listen to Munkeh 111, he wants to put Mass Effect in front of Oblivion. I can't accept that. In fact I'd like to see Oblivion as first under the WRPG category.

You might want to know that I stopped playing Oblivion after an hour (at most) because I couldn't stand it
