Hey guy's, Long time no see, I haven't been on this site for quite a while due to the fact that I went to England for 4 months to take care of my Brothers kids >.<.

Well, when I got back to Australia, I decided to build a new PC, an Extreme one, so I ordered a bunch of new parts which were -

Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition

EVGA X58 Motherboard

2X EVGA GTX 285 - Got a third comming March 4th

x2 Western Digital 1tb Hard Drives

Corsair HX1000W Power Supply

Corsair 6GB 1600mhz Dominator Memory Kit

Cosmos S case

7 Zalman blue LED fans

And a few other little extras.

When they all arrived everything worked except the Asus Rampage II Extreme, the first one had ALOT of bent pins, so I sent it away and got another one two weeks later, the second one directly from Asus Had more bent pins, and a screwed PCI-E slot, there wasnt one attatched to it.

So the next day I took it back to the place I brought it from and got a EVGA X58 - Not one problem so far.

So I built it with great care, making sure not to Damage anything, and put all the cables as neat as possible, and this was the result -

I also brought a new Samsung 42" Full Hd LCD tv for my room, so I will post some pics when I set it up.

It must be loud as hell..? It doesn't seem like you're using water cooling.

But a nice rig none the less I still wish I had my old one...

That looks like a nice PC... I wish I had a gaming PC, my laptop struggles to run games at anything ever above medium... even though I thought it was a great laptop.

Anyway, are you getting any games to take advantage of that monster, I see a lot of WoW to the side! Get ETW in a couple of weeks. The demo is out now, but does not really work properly...

I got Farcry 2 which looks awesome

And it isnt that loud, I use headphones anyway :P

I will be getting watercooling when the Waterblocks for the 285's drop

Awesome build, altough I would not have spent a thousand bucks on the 965 considering its performance on games is roughly equal to processors about three to four times cheaper. It even gets outperformed sometimes due to driver issues.

What's the monitor resolution, and what games do you plan to run? If the answers are anything other than "1920x1200 or above" and "Crysis" then it's overpowered.

Also, if you really wanted "Extreme", wouldn't it have been cheaper AND faster to get two GTX295s in quad-SLI?

2xGTX295 wins in 6 out of 9 actual game tests (or 7 out of 12 including synthetics). It's also cheaper.

Sorry dude, My brother has the GTX 295's and I don't care what anybody says... the Microstudder is THERE.

And the Monitor in the picture is 1920x1200... I plan to get a 30 inch Samsung next week.
