I have this problem and I was hoping someone could help me. I have a wired-only Linksys router connecting my PS3 and PC to the internet. For a few days now, every 10 minutes I get this message - Ethernet cable disconnected. It lasts 3 seconds or so and it goes back to normal. But the thing is if I am playing online, I leave the game, get disconnected from the PSN, etc. and have to do everything to get back in again. Not to mention I cant play since it happens so much, Now I think it might be something about my PC and not the PS3 or router, because whenever I play online with my PS3 when my PC is off, this doesn`t happen. Or happens only 1 time. So can anyone with PC knowledge help me? Thanks in advance. PS - I should say that this message appears on the PC too. So it`s not only a PS3 online problem.

Maybe your router is overheating... at least is what happened to me.

No I havent. When you router overheated, did it show the same ethernet cable disconnected message too?

I dont think its my rovider cause when my PC is off this doesnt happen. So it is something with my PC.

I had a problem at one point, where we had several PS3s on one router, and they would all get that message every minute or so.

And we switched to another router to make it work, I don't know if there are other options though.

I only have my PS3 and my PC on my router, so I don`t think that is the problem. I guess I will just have to live with it until I do a reboot on my PC (delete and reinstall Windows). My PC has been getting kinda sluggish, so I will have to do it eventually anyway.

i might be able to help you, what type of internet connection do you have?
