Forums - Gaming Discussion - Chrono Trigger...emulator?

Ok, I'm completely new to this emulator stuff and I have no idea exactly what it is or how to use "it." All I know is that I feel like giving Chrono Trigger a try since I've never played it and someone suggested an emulator. I typed in CT emulator and downloaded a file from coolROM or something like that. I tried opening it but it said windows needs to know what program created it, don't know what to do here. I would like to be educated in the matter and play CT, some help please.

ZSNES is a very good emulator for the PC. If you have a psp you can use the SNSTYL which is great. Don't fotget to play Super Puch Out that game never gets old.

Emulation?!?

Blasphemy!

If you think you can get the essential information you need, think again. No one will tell you that you need a SNES emulator to play that ROM you downloaded. Nobody, I tell you!

I really don't get it.

Wait, maybe...

ok

Just for the record, particularily since I was the one who may have suggested playing on an emulator, I will note that is an illegal activity. Also, that sites that allow these downloads occasionally contain mal-ware, so be careful.

All you need to know is you need an emulator for snes, and the chrono trigger Rom. Well, that's not all you need to know, but meh.

SNES9x is the preferred emulator for time attacking, but I doubt you'll be doing that.

ok, thanks.

1. If you're too dense to even figure out how to use an emulator go ahead and give up now.

2. It's illegal.

3. If you have a PS, PS2, or even a PS3 go and buy Final Fantasy Chronicles (you get Chrono Trigger and FFIV) for the PS1 for a mere $15 and pay some respect to the people that made one of the greatest games of all time.

^^ I´m sure it´s not illegal as long as you own the original game, VC is nothing but an emulator.

oh and personally I like snes9x, there are also tonns of crazy mods to older games out there if you like that kind of stuff
