They are both extremely similar games. The only difference been that Prototype has alot of gore while Infamous plays it a little safer. they are both set in apocalyptic worlds and have super hero stories.

While Prototype seems to be more fun, I do trust Sucker Punch as they gave us great games eg. sly cooper anyone? so I do thick Infamous has massive potential. as for Prototype well the vids speak for themselves lol

They release around the same period. This Question is mainly for people that own both consoles or the PS3 as Infamous is exclusive to PS.

so the Question is which will you be picking up? and do you think either one will overshadow the other?

I posted in a few threads about this, I do think Prototype overshadows infamous imo. Unless I keep hearing infamous is "da shit" from some review worthy people im gonna turn a blind eye as I have no interest.

I think both will be quality however to me Prototype seems far more interesting in both story and gameplay. I mean the powers in Prototype are just insane like gliding through the air and transforming into all that crazy stuff and becoming anyone. I've been looking foreward that game since it was announced and am really hoping that it delivers.

Seeing as InFamous will be releasing first (as far as I know), and thus will have time for word of mouth to spread before the other hits, I don't think it will be affected by Prototype at all, really.

I'm more interested in infamous mainly due to developer pedigree.  sucker punch made the sly series.  radical drove the crash bandicoot series into the ground.  I'll reserve my judgement on the games though until I've played them.

Well i think infamous looks better and seems to have better gameplay. I'll definately be picking that up. I might pick up prototype too.. but i'm not sure.

I think it could possibly overshadow it. At the moment it's hard to see which will be better. I hope they both do well, and I also think it depends on which comes out first. If prototype comes out first it's possible it will overshadow it.

I'll probably save myself the problem and get both. They're both quite similar but have big differences.
