What is wrong with the readers of Nintendo Power? For best RPG on a Nintendo console released in 2008, Sonic Chronicles got 27% of the votes, getting it second place. Really, what?

I can't think of a single noteworthy DS RPG late year that wasn't an SNES or NES port..

Starts with The, ends with You...

The World Ends with You is trash.

WTF?? GTFO my Internet, noob! D:<

Isn't this a bannable offence?

That is an ignorant statement. Not only are there many new RPGs that were ground breaking they had lots of JAPANESE only NES and SNES RPGs like DQIV-DQVI which are some fo the greatest RPGs of all time and they are reworked for the DS and some of them have never come to the US. There is also Fire Emblem NES remake that is coming out that is totally reworked with better graphics, sound, touch screen, online multiplayer and so much more and its never been to the US.

So no the DS is hands the RPG king of this generation and COULD be the best ever by the end of it.

I think that might be because you don't know what you're talking about.

First, to be noteworthy doesn't indicate quality, thus DQIX is very noteworthy.

As for your true meaning, quality, then The World Ends With You, is one of the best jrpgs so far this generation, I think you would agree.

Either way, it ends in your inability to know everything. I also suffer from such an inability, however, I attempt to cure it with knowledge.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Oh, wait, I missed the part where you totally discredited yourself, and also, made me laugh. Not many people do that, and I'm not talking about some childish passive-agressive way here. You sir, have potential. You pulled a Paul_Warren and I love it.

DQIX didn't come out last year.

A better counter would be "Final Fantasy IV was not a port", or perhaps "Dragon Quest IV was not a port either".

As to the topic: well, I suppose it's understandable. More Nintendo Power readers played Sonic than FFIV and DQIV.

55% Brawl?

Is Nintendo Power an American mag perchance?

I played The World Ends With You for about half the game, and never touched Sonic Chronicles, but for some reason I am inclined to believe that there is no way in hell TWEWY is better than a bad Sonic RPG. It really was that bad. The only thing going for it was the fact that it was an original IP, but the story sucked, the dialogue was even worse, and the controls were boring and stupid. How many times per conversation does somebody say "Take off your headphones! That's so rude!" and then you ignore them and think to yourself "..." ? How hard did the game need to pound it into my head that the protagonist is hip and rude and young and fresh and holy shit, does he have headphones on?

I guess NP readers just love Sonic. How could you not? But yeah, that wasn't a very good game at all. What got first?

Best RPG:

1st) The World Ends With You, 30%

2nd) Sonic Chronicles, 27% o_O

3rd) Chrono Triggger, 17%

4th) Final Fantasy 4, 13%

5th) Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, 11%

6th) Dragon Quest 4: Chapters of the Chosen, 2%

games that got 0% for overall GOTY: FF4, LostWinds, Tetris Party (ssbb won it with 55%)

So have you played all of them and able to make a good judgement that sonic chronicles does not deserve to get that many votes from users.  Or are you basing this off of reviewers opinions?

I've only played chrono, ff4, and tales2.  So i can only vote on those and my opinion on the rest are moot.

20% of UK teens think Winston Churchill is fictional.

So... i'd say that numbers not so bad even if the game does suck.
