Wiitendo, stop the bumping. We've all got topics to talk about...if someone wants to post, they will.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

OK. :( sorry.

Ben

he can't help he just installed the auto-thread bump plug in for firefox. It is his browser it is like a self propogating virus that constantly updates threads that promote its own kind so that Firefox can take over they world. Trust me today it is just an internet browser tommorow it is going to to be a bio-web browser that controls what you see in real life.........

This is just he start of the madness!

Seriously, Wiitendo, I'm going to be honest.

You're annoying.

Stop with the worship of everything Firefox. It's a good browser, yes. It's widely used by most people who know something about computers, yes. That doesn't mean that it's the next YHWH. It's NOT the greatest thing since sliced bread, and it ISN'T the cure for cancer. It's just a simple. web. browser.

With that said, stop posting the same thing over and over and over again just to bump your stupid thread. It's annoying. Thanks to this thread and this thread alone, I have half a notion to find a way to block you.

As for my preference, I have IE7 (because it came with the system), Firefox 2.0.0.6, and Opera 9.23. I prefer Firefox for its malleability and how much you can customize it, but it's essentially no better a browser than Opera, and in many ways, Opera is superior. IE7 is a decent browser and can meet all essential needs, especially if you have your own system firewalls and virus protection. The other two browsers are definitely better (and NOT Microsoft, which is one of the biggest reason many people use them), but IE7 really is an okay browser. It's not a complete hunk of junk like people make it out to be. It's just... not that great.

Thats ok, I respect your oppinion. Yeah your right about Opera being better in SOME ways, but I'm here to inform about Firefox-not Opera. You can do the same about Opera if you wish. Except while YOU guys were doing most of the debating, you didn't see that I never claimed Firefox is faster (then opera) without giving a link. I said Firefox is "better" browser. Let me clarify. Some web sites are made to show up better on special browsers. Of course IE rules the market unnecessarily and is the standard. MANY websites do NOT show up on Opera, but show up on Firefox. Some websites show up/faster/better on IE or Safari then Firefox. For your basic need IE DOSE and has worked, it might be just a bit overused and overrated, Firefox AND Opera are both more benefit able browsers. This is why I think Firefox is a better browser, when you slice it down to the memory usage yeah Opera wins in a few categories by a few numbers. Firefox and IE can still DISPLAY more web sites then Opera. That is why so many big companies, and schools are reluctant to go with the more advanced browsers, because IE is the standard so sites are typically made for it. So yeah I like Firefox, and use it. It doesn't mean Opera is any worse. Nintendo didn't chose Opera for nothing. Oh and I don't worship firefox... I hope no one dose. You Opera boys can look onto our greener grass as well. Less memory usage and mouse gestures(which can be on FF too) aren't the only;y thing you could consider when using a web browser. Oh and all those links you posted, have the FF 2.0 BETA not the real thing. Sorry for any offense to Opera users, but in some ways a few posters are just as annoying to me, as I am to you.

Are any of the Safari critics Mac users? or are you talking about the Safari Beta for PC's? because well... It's a BETA!

Because asside from some rich text editor problems on this very site, So far I have never had a single problem or even inconvenience with Safari 2.0 on my mac.

I use a mac and PC. When I criticize Safari I am criticizing the Mac version. I don't criticize Beta or hacked software. I included on my list of web browsers for the PC for the sole reason someone want to use it without understanding what a beta is. However given the ease at which someone can crash Safari on the Mac or the issues with the way it processes images creating several non malicous sites like autoblogger to become Safari pages of death. I have 0 faith in Safari.

I think Safari on the mac is number one, because apple is so good at inter grating it's products. I posted some more site comparisons and a chart.

Think what you want but Safari is the buggiest browser out there. IE has it share and ranks lower solely because of the activeX exploits in my book but....

Before and after text on links form part of the clickable link in Mozilla, but not Safari. Turning off the text-decoration on the before and after text turns it off for Safari, but not for Mozilla, because it is part of the (underlined) link.

Some elements of CSS2 are not supported, including desirable properties such as min-width, min-height, max-width and max-height, as well as less-used ones like cursor.

does not support border-collapse, border-spacing,row-span or column-span – but to be fair, only Mozilla supports border-collapse properly (Windows IE provides partial support) and no browser appears to support row-span or column-span

Certain web-kit applications cause Safari to crash and in some cases Finder to crash unless Web-kit images are first saved to the HD before viewing.

safari has a horrible Event handler causing hiccups crashes and the pinwheel of death.

Safari has a few known exploits that allow for root permission and remote access.

It also can be caused to crash by over 200 single lines of code. To be fair most are javascript containing certain Cascading style sheets(CSS) and Document Model Objects(HTML DOM).

Safari has allowed for unsolicited installation of widgets  on several occasions(I believe they just fixed this again).

These are problems that Mozilla does not have...Though Opera does have some issues with properly displaying CSS.
