Forums - Sony Discussion - Motorstorm: Pacific Rift Demo 2.0

Has anybody else tried the new demo? I absolutely hated the original largely because of the controls and the fact that after seven races I had only managed to attain a fifth place finish (pretty bad considering how much I played the original Motorstorm). I tried the new demo and the controls have been improved and I can actually win the race so now I'm reconsidering purchasing Pacific Rift. Anybody else try and enjoy the Pacific Rift 2.0 demo or is it just me?

I tried the first one and thought it was just "good". I bought the game the week it was available and I don't regret my purshase, in fact, I'm still playin it!

But well, you're a motorstorm gamer, so you know that the game is pretty hard!

So go for it, it's a great game!

I tried it last night. Played once with the truck and the bike, but twice with the buggy and finished 1st with that one. I was also unable to place better than 4th in the first demo and I hated the controls too for their annoying lack of steering. Make no mistake about it, the control issues are still there, I feel no sense of weight in the vehicles and they still understeer terribly. It's most frustrating to flip your car over an odd bump on the road now and then. I just don't like the vehicles can crash so easily over the slightest irregularity on the terrain, I remember this was not like this in the first game.

If the controls seemed a little better in this demo 2.0 is because the track was for the most part, less curvy than the one in the first demo and had pretty much no tricky shortcuts. The demo description talks about the Razorback track as if it's a fan favorite or the best track of them all in the game. At least that's my impression. I found it really unispired and unexciting, I liked the track in the first demo a lot more. My decision still stands about this game, it's not worth the time less my money.

Razorback is probably the track I hate the most in motorstorm 2 lol.

Thanks for the info. At the very least I definitely have to borrow a copy to try for myself.

nope didnt like it, it was too hard and i thought it was little if any better looking than the first demo

I agree that the Original Demo was complete shit.

yet,I still bought Pacific Rift,And the game is fantastic.

And from what i hear this demo is better.

I love that sony made these demos actually.

I want to buy the game but with Kz2 coming i cant.. besides its like 50€

So anyway me nad my friends have played Motorstorm demo (nr 1) for over like 100 times now litterly, Its easy when ureach goal simply before u go in u just press start and restart NO LOADING what so ever, so u feel like ur playing brutality for fun non stop. Its really amazing and i want the game but this DEMO has made me survive.

Now recently there was another demo that even wauwed me more, And ofcourse ive played it around 20 times already :P so now i got 2 demos! yay.

I might pick it up if it ever gets 30€ or something. But as of now i can survive playing on the demos. The game itself is awesome i love the demos.. but as i said i cant afford it atm.

I hate Pacific Rift.... They absolutely ruined Motorstorm.  Why does every game sequal have to become more noob friendly?  First time playing Pacific Rift without even having a clue about the tracks or where to go or where the obstacles are, I didn't crash one time...  That is pathetic, they made the game so easy so anyone could play it.  The first Motorstorm you actually had to learn the tracks and learn every little bump in the track or you would flip and crash, and even after you knew them perfectly, if you still didn't hit every turn or every bump just right, you would still crash.  Now in Pacific Rift the Cars just glide over the track like it is a paved road... or better...Why do sequals blow so much and why do they always make sequals so easy to play, so you don't have to...you know.... practice....

Wow we have completely different opinions :P!

I LOVE the fact that u dont crash 24 / 7 in pacific rift. I own motorstorm 1 and i thought it was a bit.. BAM BAM BAM BAM yeah i probably did suck but the game just got.. pretty boring when u crash on EXACTLY same spot and u have to learn the maps without i dont really like that..

Pacific rift feels alot more brutality car to car, I love going side to side with another car trying to push him and u always see the competetion(Unless ur terrible at car games in general) and instead of feeling like your some nub on a motorcycle crashing every once in a while your actually figthing ur way threw and sometimes get crushed by cars instead :P.

In motorstorm 1 that almost never happend to me that feeling and that way of gaming, I played the demo of first map on motorstorm and i probaly crashed over 10 times the first play threw, after a while it went down to 3-4 and eventually 2. But still i had to play it ALOT it made me get bored. Instead of going ffs i fell off or died, I go like lol omfg *Pauses* HEY COME AND LOOK AT THIS THE CAR LANDED ON MY HEAD* :D

SO yeah i love the new motorstorm and i should pick it up.. .. we'll see..
