I liked bioshock but not nearly as much as FEAR1...let alone FEAR 2. I see the qualities in tha game, and while I do admit that story, atmoshere and production are astonishing...gunplay in Bioshock put me to sleep. Its definetly not a twich shooter...i dont think its a shooter at all actually...more like an adventure game, which is fine, just not my cup of tea.

I am not sure if FEAR 2 is being reviewed lower because of Killzone 2. It seems like most of the reviews are saying that the multiplayer is lacking, and that the game doesn't do anything revolutionary and doesnt push the boundaries.

Obviously a lot of reviewers have set expectations of what a shooter should play like in 2009... But for fans of the series, there is nothing wrong with not going for something completely new but improving upon the strengths of the first game.

Look at RE5...everyone is saying "oh its just RE4 with pretty graphics and coop"...umm, ok wasn't RE4 one of the best games ever? And this one is just like it? Plus looks better and allows for coop? Ok then... I know what game Ill be buying in March.

Oh yeah your right the action in both are totally different....all I know is that Fear 1 had me scared as shit and Im definitely picking Fear 2 up now I played the demo and was scared as shit when I went through that theater door and Alma just grabbed me...I even screamed sadly for a grown man thats embarrassin lmao

Grumpy is a huge F.E.A.R fanboy ofcourse he is gonna rated Fear 2 high. Can't say it deserve it or not. I just didn't expected a low score coming from a Fear fanboy;

What they're saying is that it is a lot like the first one, which probably means I won't like it. Seeing some in here comparing it to Bioshock in playability doesn't help either, I think I'll just steer clear of this alltogether.

It deserves more then that, based on what I've played. This game is awesome so far, as to be expected from Monolith. I want Condemned 3 now! 

Its understandabe if someone who didn't like the first one doesn't like this as its part 1 improved...however Bioshock is completely different from FEAR gameplay wise. Completely other end of the spectrum...

One compliment that I can give to both games is that I can't think of a single other game that plays like either... You'd think with all these games that copied the "bullet time" mechanic, some would be close to the amazingness of FEAR gunfights...but no.

I know and feel that FEAR and Bioshcok are far apart in gameplay, what Bioshock lacked for was variation and depth, they could've taken the RPG elements much further and the shooting and enemies and locales got very old quite early on.
It had extreme potential, I hope and think that they'll improve upon themselves in the sequel and I will give it a go, I can see a really, really good game emerge if given a little more sugar!
