I personally think that this is a bit of a reach.

I don't think Sega has the money or the want to enter the Console race yet again.

However, if they *did* pop in with a new console in the next couple of years, what do you think would happen?

Do you think there would be enough room for a new console to enter the market? 

Would you buy the new Sega console?

Do you think Sega has enough first party I.P.'s to make a successful first party library?

I think 3 consoles is plenty and I really hope we don't see fourth competitor enter next gen even though I really love Sega. So my money is on no they aren't going to be making a new console they just don't have the money for it.

My concern is economy, exclusives, there lack of money atm, and the fact that we now have 3 consoles, going to 4 would be dangerous. Not only that there might be EA making there own console.

If they give me a line up im interested in and show me some of the titles in action once it's time, i'll bite.

They don't have a strong enough first party. They don't have enough money to buy exclusive or timed-exclusive games. They don't have any money to waste, if they fail they are finished.

Basicallly, they don't have anything going for them.

All they would have to do is disrupt the same market Nintendo just did with the Wii.

If Sega's console was different from the PS3, 360, and the Wii, why not. How about a 3D capable system or a holographic system. If such system existed, it would make people take notice. But no I don't think we need another PS360. I would take a more powerful Wii though. Something with gloves and 1:1 motion controls. Throw in a VR helmet and let me wander through the woods cutting down giant ogres while staring up at them. Then you have me sold.

i think apple is contemplating entering the console race..if sega comes back in then surely that would give reason for apple too.

This is more likely an arcade board than anything else.

After so many shovelware and downright shitty games by Sega, it's hard for me to put any trust into them as a company.

I think that if they were to bring a new console to the market, I would have to pass on it indefinitely.

The only thing that can change that is SquareEnix.

When Star Ocean picks a console, so do I. :)
