Theres been absolutely no threads, zip, zero, nada on the fact that Resistance 2 bombed. People have been too busy picking on the xbox 360 to notice how badly Resistance 2 has done since release. Wheres Rock on 2008 post-mortem on the situation? Since it hasn't been written its pretty obvious that hes extremely disapointed with the game, and to be frank, theres a lot of things to be disapointed about. Probably the reason why Rock on 2008 didn't make a thread about Resistance 2 is because we have to yet again sort through a whole new list of broken promises. Probably the biggest one, and likely the main reason why Rock on 2008 hasn't posted about Resistance 2 was the idea of having a Alien inemy instead of a Human enemy. Rock on 2008 spoke at length to me in PMs about how he wanted to be more than a "Average shooter". I think it cut him deep, so deep that even a fellow Austrian like Rolstoppable couldn't console him. With sales this average, why bother to talk about them at all? There are other games that sold worse, and other games which sold better, but one things certain the game didn't live up to expectations. Mario Kart sold 10 million copies this year, and it was an extremely hardcore game. Resistance 2 sold barely 1/5th what Mario Kart sold, 1/2 of what Fable 2 sold, and its extremely disapointing to see such a similar game perform so badly on the PS3. Its probably far too casual, the PS3 has too many casual middling releases so its hard for one to distinguish itself. The biggest problem I had personally was the emasculating casualness of the game. Its simply impossible to lose! After finishing the game, I found myself intimidated by Wii owners! They are everywhere afterall, even your stuffy librarian could secretly be a hardcore Wii owner playing through Mario Kart every night. I even had to remind myself when I visited Vgchartz that the Wii owners weren't going to call me a casual and make fun of me for owning an Xbox 360 as my primary gaming system.
What are your guys thoughts on this?
