Left 4 Dead DLC 4 free

Valve has announced that the price of its upcoming Left 4 Dead DLC, which includes a new "Survival" mode and "Versus" mode support for two more campaigns, will be set at ... zero dollars for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions.

Wow. Our posts are really short when we can't find anything to complain about.

Of course it's free. All they did was basically "unlock" the 2 other campaigns that should have been playable in multiplayer to begin with. There's four 45 minute campaigns in the game and it got delayed over a year and they still couldn't get all the campaigns to work in multiplayer by the time the game comes out.

Survival mode sounds like the same thing the game already has except without the "triggers" that help you end the finales. Hopefully they come out with something substantial and new for the next "DLC".

Apparently we CAN complain about things, even when free!  Hurray for the internet!

Thanks for the incredibly intelligent and well thought out response.  The actual point of my post is to state that it's no suprise this update is free because of the original lack of content the game has. If you actually think about it, the game has 3-3 1/2 hours of single player content. Then half of that is regurgitated into the multiplayer and that's all the game has.

I've put much more time and probably enjoyed Left 4 Dead more than you but unfortunately there's still too much common sense in my brain to think this is anything but a long overdue update that people have been waiting for for months now. My hope is that some actual new content comes out so that more people can enjoy the game. You should make a more relevant post than the predictability of playing off sega4life's last line.

I think the Online and Co-Op make up for the games short comings...

And the way Companies have been charging for DLC (like $5.00 for 1 character for Soul Calibur) it's Welcome with no complaints....

You do realize L4D is the otherway around. The single player is stapled onto the multiplayer. L4D was originally planned as a multiplayer only game. It turned into something of a Epic style multiplayer with single palyer practice gameplay but of Valve quality.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.
