I found an article on the Hardest Bosses of all time

I found it interesting

Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson's Punch Out (NES)
The pixilated version of the man who once said "I want to kill people & I want to rip their stomachs out and eat their children," is almost as frightening as the real thing, and battling Iron Mike himself in Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! for the NES is positively one of the most grueling boss battles ever put into a video game (probably because the programmers feared Mike kicking their asses if they didn't make him hard enough to defeat).

Sephiroth

Kingdom Hearts (PlayStation 2)
Using fire, meteors, Darkness spheres, voodoo, teleportation attacks, and his ultra-long katana to gore you, Final Fantasy VII's silver-haired antagonist Sephiroth appears in the original Kingdom Hearts as an optional boss and defeating him is harder than beating Final Fantasy VII with your buttcheeks. While he seems almost unbeatable, Seph can be taken out by implementing the proper strategy.

Emerald Weapon

Final Fantasy VII (PlayStation)
Emerald Weapon, a sea monster with around one million health points has been known to cause bed-wetting and night terror for gamers who foolishly attempt to defeat it in Final Fantasy VII. This underwater leviathan will crush Cloud and his merry band of miscreants into sea dust so tiny that even plankton would laugh at them. One of the really fun aspects of this already monumental boss fight is that you have a twenty minute time limit, and if you passed basic arithmetic you should know that defeating a boss with a million hit points in that amount of time has about the same success rate as using chewed up bubble gum to mend a shotgun wound. Luckily the people at Squaresoft are only partially cruel, and with the right preparation this monstrosity can be forced to give up the ghost.

"Free Bird" on Expert

Guitar Hero II (PlayStation 2)
"If i leave here tomorrow..."(... and kill myself because this song is so hard...)

"Would you still remember me..." (... as the guy who almost beat this song on expert...)

Aside from arguably being the number one song that couples consummated their marriage to in the 70s (as well as the number one song for drunk idiots to show out when prompted for requests at a rock concert), Free Bird is one hell of a difficult track to get through in Guitar Hero II. If you're a fairly seasoned Guitar Hero shredder you shouldn't have too much trouble... until about the four minute mark. From that point on you will quickly be lead down a path forged by Skynyrd guitarist Allen Collins to what we like refer to as the 9 Circles of Hand Cramp Hell. If you even make it to the six minute mark without losing sensation in your fingertips, you are doing better than most.

The End

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PlayStation 2)
More of a test of patience and endurance than sheer difficulty, fighting The End is like trying to chase down a camouflaged senior citizen in the jungle, who also happens to be carrying a high-powered sniper rifle. Supposedly born sometime in the 1860s, and being that the events of MGSIII take place in 1964, that would make The End roughly one hundred years old. You can hardly tell, what with jungle creatures crawling all over him, liver spots all over his face and his right eye popping out from time to time. Somehow this decrepit old man can still aim and fire a sniper rifle like he was doing it in his sleep... which is good because the guy will nod off during this battle at the drop of a hat.

Vaati (Second Form)

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA)
Vaati is the master of causing trouble throughout The Minish Cap. Not only does he turn Princess Zelda into stone, but he also loves to taunt Link with his squealing laugh every time he makes an appearance. Vaati is just a pain no matter how you look at it. Vaati is the final boss of the game, and takes on three different forms, though the second form is by far the toughest. Vaati takes the form of a large purple eye surrounded by 8 smaller eyes, intent on blasting link with electrified orbs, impaling him on spiky purple blocks, and crushing him beneath boulders. In the midst of all this, you are going to attempt to take him down, and send him back from whatever purply-eyed dimension he came from.

The "Green Eye"

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Xbox 360 and PC)
This thing is freaking hard--it takes 20 minutes to kill it, and that's if you don't die 8 or 9 times. Agony. It is so hard that some players (GamePro's ViciousSid included) assume that it was the last boss in Lost Planet.

Fifth Stage Boss

Mushihimesama Futari (Arcade)
There's a reason why Mushihimesama Futari, does not fit in the Raiden-style arcade shooter genre. This game is actually classified as part of the "bullet hell" subgenre, which are games where the entire screen is flooded with thousands and thousands of bullets, missiles, lightning, explosions, lasers, and just about anything else that can obliterate an aircraft.

General RAAM (on Insane Mode")

Gears of War (Xbox 360 and PC)
This hulking leader of the Locust race is a bitch to kill on the normal difficulty setting, and when you are playing on "Insane," it's nearly impossible to beat Gears of War's General RAAM without dying several times.

Emperor

The Typing of the Dead (Sega Dreamcast)
For those who don't remember Typing of the Dead, it was essentially House of the Dead II, only instead of ripping through zombie hordes with guns, you use a keyboard to type words that appear on the screen. Who would have thought that killing zombies could be used as a teaching tool? Like the game's slogan, you really did have to "Type or Die."

Eve (Parasite Eve EX Mode)

Parasite Eve (PlayStation)
The real final battle in Parasite Eve doesn't occur until after you finish the game once. While the game was challenging, it has nothing on the EX mode. It is in this mode where you will fight your way to the top of the Chrysler Building (all 70 freaking floors of it) to make your way to the final form of Eve. Squaresoft wasn't going to toy around here, so they gave Eve 45,000 HP, and the ability to drop you down to one HP with the flick of her slimy wrist. This won't be an easy fight.

Deus + Sub-bosses

Xenogears (PlayStation)
Xenogears is an epic game, and the only way to finish an epic game is with an epic boss battle. The battle against Deus is extremely tricky and difficult, due in part to the four optional sub-bosses that surround him. Each boss, if defeated, removes Deus' ability to use their respective special attacks, and also lowers his HP. As difficult as Deus is in his own right, some of his sub-bosses are ridiculously powerful, and if you go in unprepared you might as well throw in the towel right then and there. The worst mistakes you can make during this boss battle are draining your party's power by taking on more sub-bosses than you can handle, or getting to the very end of the game and realizing you don't have some of the equipment required for making it out of these battles successfully.

Trio of Mortal Kombat Villains

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360)
There's nothing worse than the feeling when you get creamed in a fight, your health bar is a microscopic hair hanging on for dear life, you're just about to set your controller on the floor to take a breather, and then you discover that you've only slain the first of several bosses. In Shaolin Monks, you had to kill Shang Tsung, Kintaro, and Shao Kahn... ...all in a row. This trio of Mortal Kombat villains is definitely one of the hardest battles in MK history. Hearing "FINISH HIM" never felt so good as when you finally take all three of them out.

Sisters of Fate

God of War II (PlayStation 2)
Ares, the last boss in the original God of War is a whimp compared to the first two Sisters of Fate you have to fight at the same time in God of War II. Killing these sisters is a ball-busting task, one that requires a tremendous amount of patience and skill, and rather than listing every single step that you must take to beat this multi-boss battle.

Death

Castlevania (NES)
Known to have caused many NES controllers thrown across the room, simply put Death is one aggravating SOB. While being fairly slow moving himself, it's his scythes that float around during this boss fight that make it so damn difficult. A key sub-weapon to have going into this fight is the axe. Its long-arced trajectory and decent damage will be integral to making it through the fight alive. You may not defeat him on your first, second or even third try, but if you can avoid enough of Death's scythes (as each one causes four bars of damage each), and get enough hits in with the axe, you will eventually crush this ghoulish bastard.

Jordan on Expert

Guitar Hero II (PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360)
You'd be better off just chopping your fingers off and saving yourself the arthritic suffering this song will cause you. In fact you know what, go learn how to play guitar and look up the tablature to Jordan. You'll impress way more girls this way, not to say that girls aren't already completely attracted to sweat pants-wearing, onion-armpitted, cheeto-eating, GH-obsessed guys. Not one bit.

Romeo Guildenstern

Vagrant Story (PlayStation 2)
While the crab boss in Vagrant Story is harder to vanquish than pubic crabs, the very last boss, Romeo Guildenstern, is tough enough to make a guy who chews beer bottles with his molars cry. How hard is Romeo Guildenstern exactly? Well, allow us to be honest for a moment and say that we here at GamerHelp weren't able to beat the bastard until we read an FAQ for some strategy recommendations. Even then, it wasn't pretty. Equipping Ashley Riot with your best single-handed weapon, your strongest shield, and your best gems was a good start, but had to know Guildenstern's moves like the back of you hand to kill him.

Alma

Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PlayStation 3)
When she's not throwing fireballs and huge stone pillars at your face, Alma will be making your life a living hell with melee attacks and attempting to dive bomb the crap out of you. For a while the only thing you can do during this fight is hop around the area, avoiding her devastating attacks at all cost. The first chance you get attempt a flying swallow attack, and if you hit her (which you'll do rarely) she'll drop to the floor, leaving her prone to attacks for a moment. Don't rest on your laurels though; the moment you feel like your getting somewhere in this battle, Alma will use a giant pillar to violently examine your prostate, and Ryu will be quite unhappy with the outcome.

Vergil

Devil May Cry 3 (PlayStation 2)
If you've fought Vergil (the other white-haired character in DMC3) yourself, then you already know how excruciatingly difficult this Dark Slayer and final boss in Devil May Cry is to beat, especially if you don't know what you're doing and/or this is your first time fighting him. If you can manage to stay alive after he transforms into his Devil Trigger state and unleashes his deadly sword attacks on you, there's no way you can walk away from this battle thinking 'that was easy.

Enigmatic Soldier

Kingdom Hearts II (PlayStation 2)
To fully understand the triumph one feels when defeating this optional boss from Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix (because I sure as hell haven't), look no further than this wonderful video. You will literally hear the sound of victory... at 2 minutes and 50 seconds.

Takeshi Kitano

Takeshi's Challenge (Famicom)
The disclaimer in the beginning of this Japanese NES game reads "this game was made by a man who hates video games," and you face Takeshi Kitano, the final boss in Takeshi no Chousenjou (Takeshi's Challenge), you can see why this message is given. The reason why this final boss makes our list is simple: the player had to strike Mr. Kitano over 20 thousand times in order to complete the game. And we mean over 20 thousand times when we say it--this wasn't an RPG where one strike was equivalent to hundreds of hits.

Satan

Digital Devil Saga 2 (PlayStation 2)
Quite possibly one of the only bosses in video game history where you have to bust out a friggin' calculator in order to defeat, Satan lives up to his diabolical name in DDS2. If you even manage to get Satan's HP down to 1500, if not immediately defeated with your strongest attacks he will heal himself back to full health. Babies crushed in a meat grinder have suffered less than gamers who have attempted this boss. There is no other option to defeating Satan than to be at level 99, and using Beacon of Assault three times in a row in order to stop Satan from casting a spell that will vanquish your entire party in one blow. In short, defeating Satan in Digital Devil Saga 2 will give you a better sense of accomplishment than your dream of being crowned Prom Queen.

Yiazmat

Final Fantasy XII (PlayStation 2)
50,112,254 hit points. 50,112,254 hit points. Yiazmat is by far the most difficult optional boss of Final Fantasy XII, and you'll be hard pressed to maintain your sanity during this ridiculous battle. Unless you want Yiazmat to bitch slap you at the onset of the fight, there are a few integral things you must have before taking Yiazmat on. First of all, don't even bother attempting the fight if your character levels are under 75. Next, as Yiazmat is weak against Dark, make sure to have the Yagyu Darkblade or Orochi with the Cat Ear Hood, as well as the Fomalhaut gun with Dark Shot equipped. Finally make sure to bring one hundred Chronos Tears, and Bubble Belts and Windbreakers for all your characters. If you take on Yiazmat with all this junk, you may get lucky, but we're not making any promises.

Nicchae and Ishtaros from Ninja Gaiden could kick the crap out of everybody on this list.

You know, I wouldn't call the last guy in Beyond Good & Evil very hard but it took me some time because you had to get the button combination perfect and I kept on having major problems with that for some reason.

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

I second The End from MGS. As with Vergil from DMC (final form only). Definitely should be some Ninja Gaiden bosses on there.

I also nominate this boss fight from Persona 2: Eternal Punishment:

Metal Eikichi, Metal Lisa, and Metal Jun

I died at least 15 times trying to beat this boss. Definitely one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Freebird really isn't difficult compared to Jordan.

I'd like to nominate the Bounties from Skies of Arcadia and that death sword guy from Tales of Symphonia (even though they're both sidequest related they're really tough).

Vegil .. common man , even the Vampire Girl was harder , waaay harder than Vergil . And the end of MGS3 ... wtf ? I had harder times beeting the Rayman 2/3 final boss :?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

No rpg enemy should be on this list...

What! Nothing from Metroid?

Maybey it's just me but the helicopter in the original Rambo game for the NES was a tough bastard and the MegaDragon in Might & Magic 2 for the C64 (AC 250, 64,000 HP, resistant to magic and 16 attacks/turn doing 250 damage with each attack). My bishop and barbarian were the ony survivors, got over 5 million XP's for that. They both raised from level 76 to level 105. Ahh, the good old days...8)
