So RE5 is exactly the same as DMC4, therefore it will sell more on PS3 because DMC4 sold more on PS3 than X360. lol

RE5 is an action/shooter game and it would attract a large western audience and sell well in NA and Europe and minimally in Japan where RE games have declined over the years in sales numbers.

RE5 should sell more on X360 due to 8 million lead over PS3. X360 has a larger shooter/action following than PS3.

RE5 life time sales: RE5 sales on X360 should be 2.5 million. RE5 on PS3 should be around 2 million

Way too many x360 gamers expected the game to be the same as Gears of War 2 so the sales not reflect the demo downloads (over 1.3 million first 3 days)

And because the RE series hasn't done that hot in Europe on the PS2 the Xbox 360 may outsell the PS3 version there as well due to the higher install base in Others.

Resident Evil, as a franchise, has never been on a Microsoft system. Is it one of those franchises that people just associate with Sony? I don't know. Still, with the focus on online co-op, the 360's larger install base, and the 360's demographic (allegedly bigger shooter fans), I can't see the PS3 version outselling the 360's. Any multi-console owner is more than likely swaying towards the 360 version.

I'm going out on a limb and saying that the 360 version wins by 250,000 by at the end of one month, and 1,000,000+ copies after a year.

The NA X360 game selling capacity will more than make up the game not being available on X360 in Japan. The sheer weight of numbers in NA will see X360 outsell PS3 3 to 2 for RE 5 worldwide, just like GTA IV did and many other top selling games.

RE5 being very shooter based should see it sell well in NA mainly on X360 which outsells PS3 version of most multi-platform games 2 to 1 in favour of X360 over PS3 in the United States of America which is more or less the entire North American region.

RE5 having popular online co-op and MP components that sell extremely well on X360 should see it heavily outsell PS3 version of the game in USA. Combined with the attractive price of X360: starting @ $200 which is around half the price of PS3 @ $400.

Expect to see X360 and PS3 have a small boost in hardware due to the RE5 launch.

Anyway, as you know, I've already bought Killzone 2. Had no more than a fleeting interest in RE5, which was destroyed by the demo. I will probably get SF4 at some point, if there is a lull in quality games. But I'll get inFamous, Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank and Valkyria Chronicles over it.

OT: It could. It has a 160k advantage in Japan from first day sales, that should become 250k or so. The PS3 version will probably win in Others, as many multiplats do, particularly sequels to games on PS2 and not on Xbox.

America will definitely belong to the 360 version, but it depends on how much. It could be enough that the 360 version takes the win (ala SF4 and GTA4) or not enough to beat the PS3 version (ala DMC4).

I'll predict that the 360 version will win overall, since this is the most common outcome for multiplats.

EDIT: Changed my mind, 360 will probably take this one, especially seeing as it's more of a shooter than ever before.
