Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How long Until the Wii reach 50% Market share?

October maybe but never again after Christmas

I will have to disagree with you on that one to a point.  I do not believe that once the Wii passes 50% it will give up that 50% until the PS3 has a price cut (and matching price cut by the 360).  And I can't see a price cut this year for the PS3.  Sony just can't afford it.

Even then the Wii may regain the 50% later on in it's life.

Good thread

But... ive noticed that the PS3 has actually GAINED some market share since christmas... im sure it was at 21.1% now its at 21.3%. This cant be good for the Wii... and with the impending PS3 price cut it could put an even bigger dent into the 50% mark.
But that being said... when was the last Wii pricecut?

^It is very easy to gain marketshare - Just sell a larger percentage of consoles continuously than your current marketshare.

No matter how much the PS3 gains in sales, they can't affect the Wii's chances if the Wii continues having the same percentage of consoles sold. Although the 360 will be affected.

I believe that the best bet is the 4 week average becase this will average out the supply jumps and slumps for the Wii.

So it gets pushed back again, eh? Basically take through September now?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I think the Wii will surpass 50% by the middle of the year. EU and US sales are still strong, Monster Hunter will help in Japan.

The reason for the N/A is because the PS3+360 > Wii this week.

Just to appear as my last posted thread.

it depends on whether or not the wii bubble has burst or not. But it will probably be this year
