A video review? Are those thing new or something? Great, now even illiterate idiot can review game and judging by this "thing" ,they do.

Just a quick reminder for all my follow nerd out there, nobody want to see your ugly face or hear your girly voice, stick to text.

This is from a TV show. They kind of have to do a video of it. But gametrailers.com does it better, because their reviews are more in depth and show you what they are speaking of.

Wait, are you telling me this thing is actually on television? Wow, this is worst than I though, on which channel?

G4, but X-Play used to be considered the only good show on it.

Never hear of it, then again I almost never watch TV except when the habs are playing. Thx for the info anyway.

I'm not sure if I can stomach watching that. but then again for me x-play was really only about seeing more footage and trying to tune those two morons out than anything else back in the day. Haven't watched it in a while, this is one reason why.

I got these from the x-play website:

"# 1 - Hated it. Do not buy this game. Not even worth the bargain bin. Run from it. Escape!! Escape!!

# 2 - Alright. These games are fun, with some good points, but nothing special. There's definitely a few specific things holding this game back. Wait until the price comes down or pick it up as [a] renter to check out some of the things it does right."

Now which one do you think Rygar deserves?

Do you have a link? I looked for this and could not find it.

Also, this seems diffrent than what they used to describe -- because 1's were generally reserved for broken games.

Firstly the review is correct on all counts. Specifically due to one unalterable fact he is providing a service to his audience. That audience being comprised of core and hardcore gamers. A audience that holds its games to a higher standard of quality not a lower one.

How do you know what the audience is? Do you have data? Or are you just assuming that only core and hardcore gamers would care enough to watch a TV show about games?

And could it be that the show took a turn that drove anyone who did not have an Xbox 360 by the turn the show seemed to take favoring that console in 2008.

I watched loyally for three years -- 2006, 2007 and 2008.  I never had more than a  Wii.

I finally could not take any more and turned it off -- a New Year's Resolution that I have kept (that makes two in my life. The other was to eat more fruit with my lunch).  The show started pro-Wii, was neutral, then became about as "fair and balanced" as something else claiming to be that -- if you know what I mean.

I liken this to Game Informer. It's own surveys show that it has more readers who own Wiis than PS3s. (The most ownership is Xbox 360s). This was true for both single and multiple console owners. However, the PS3 has received far more coverage -- both favorable and in total -- than the Wii.  So they are not playing to their readership here, but rather their biases.

That being said, I think a 2 would have been in order for the game.

Gaming journalism and professionalism is going down the crapper.

What do you mean, "IS going"?

Gaming journalism has been in the toilet for a good while now, and this "review" is just another sad example of it.
