Zombie Massacre Interview: House of the Dead meets Crazy Taxi on the Wii

We chop it up with 1988 Games' Ben Krotin and discover juicy details about the upcoming Wii-exclusive 4-player zombie game in the undead vein of '80s horror flicks.

With big name zombie-slaying games coming soon like Resident Evil 5, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, House of the Dead: Overkill, and Dead Rising 2 and lesser known potential hits also on the horizon like Bikini Zombie Slayers and Dead Island, zombie connoisseurs have a lot games filled with hordes of the walking dead to look forward to. 1988 Games' tongue-in-cheek horror game Zombie Massacre, which combines driving a convertible with shooting, stabbing, and bludgeoning the undead, joins the growing list of new zombie games coming up. GamePro interviews Ben Krotin to find out everything you want to know about this Wii-exclusive title.

GamePro: What do you do in Zombie Massacre? From the descriptions already publicly known, it almost sounds like a fast-paced arcade party game. Can you elaborate on what the game feels like to play?

Ben Krotin: You kick a lot of zombie ass! Seriously. Basically, the game is sort of like a mix between Crazy Taxi and House of the Dead. Players control driving and shooting, as they race against the clock to deliver an already ticking nuclear warhead to the center of the city.

Along the way, they will encounter hoards of merciless zombies, hapless civilians, and tons of weapons. The game is really a driving game at heart, but one with not-so-realistic physics as well as the fun gimmick of shooting attached.

Players can drive as recklessly as they'd like to, with speed and destruction being the only goal. Also, to immerse players into the driving and shooting experience, Zombie Massacre takes advantage of unique motion controls.

For both the shooting and driving gameplay, the game controls with a combination of the Wii-mote and the Nunchuk. The Nunchuk steers, and the Wii-mote shoots.

 

The website is trippy but the game sounds completely Fubar'ed to be honest. Add it to the list.

Can you run over the zombies and does it have decent graphics unlike Dead Rising? If so it may be a great game!

Try Scarface.  It worked well in that game.
