Since RTS doesn't interest me, unless it says Command and Cinquer on it...lol, then this really is something I have no interest in regardless of the platform. However, I do agree that "Halo killer" phrases are getting rather ridiculous no matter who starts them. That said, I hope 360 fans enjoy Halo Wars and PS3 fans enjoy Under Seige. But creating threads and fighting over which games will "kill" other games is ludicrous. How do people expect the market to stay alive if we "kill" off major franchises? We're GAMERS folks, so why should we applaud the killing of a huge GAME like Halo, regardless if it's FPS or RTS.

^This. CGI-, your posting has improved greatly. Respect man!

CGI-Quality a Gebx killer confirmed?

No they arent, but posts like yours will create a false sense that they are.....Then when the game drops and doesnt "kill" Halo Wars, people will claim that it was the Sony fanboys of this site who made such ridiculous claims in the first place.

Just let the game be made in peace, these stupid comparisons are getting out of hand. And I know this is my first post, but I have been lurking since last year. So I know how things work around here.

you need to post more. I didnt even have to read this thread to see what peoples responses were to this silly, sensationalized thread because you summed up exactly what i wanted to say.....most likely in a more polite way :)

I LOVE IT! (sarcasm, as in "I'd buy that for a dollar" in the voice of the Smash TV announcer)

Now, by use of this term, Halo Wars (even before it is released) gets enshrined as the Halo of RTS games on consoles.

And now we get to no longer have to say "Halo Killer".

God damnit, it seems like 360 fans are using these "Halo killer" phrases a LOT more than PS3 fans. And then they proceed to say that we are making these phrases up. Can everyone stop using this damn phrase? I don't know if anything can kill Halo, if anything it'll just be up there with Halo. It's basically as absurd as saying a new sci fi movie is a "Star Wars" killer.

It is a line they draw in the sand, daring you to cross over it.  It is best that people don't go there.  Anyhow, the media tended to do this "Halo Killer" as in a question asked far more than fans of the Playstation brand had done.  Game Informer actually had Haze on its cover with "Halo Killer" as a question.

"Line in the Sand"? "Don't go there"?

So Halo Wars is getting put on this pedestal yet it has not accomplished anything yet?

I thought it was wrong to do this with your games?

Apologies if I am understanding wrong, but this is what I am seeing.

Honestly I think all of you protest too much. Many of you think your so jammed up in the corner that you couldn't be bothered to look for angles. Your screaming about conspiracies, and the us verses them mentality. You are getting caught up on labels and ranting about phrases. Your so blinded to all but your immediate concern you have missed something critical.

The PS3 will have a new exclusive in a very weak genre. Even better the console will be getting an installment sooner. Which is a dramatic improvement over Microsoft having full penetration for a year to eighteen months. Before Sony even steps foot on the playing field. This is all positive, and for the sake of the fans I hope Sony is not so ground down that they can be ambitious.

I for one am dubious as to Sony being able to deliver a hardware price cut this year. However this game could be a sign that Sony has not given up the fight, and intends to at least try and respond on the software front. A place where they have lost a great deal of ground.

Speaking to the console war this is very good. Microsoft has gone uncontested on so many fronts for so long it will be nice to see the PS3 not just roll over and play dead. It will be nice to see the console not concede another genre, and chalk up another black mark. Be thankful the PS3 will have a response.

Sony has to hold its ground, and win small victories where it can. Otherwise it will not hold its ground, and will most definitely lose the war. I know your all in the war mentality, but a good deception is often hidden behind a lousy one. Did it occur to no one that the author might have set up a lose lose situation. Look what he has accomplished through this thread all on his own. He has you attacking a exclusive game for your console, downplaying its significance, and censoring yourself. Hell he has total control of your frame of mind.

He is making you guys into his bitches. Just as he has done time and again. He riles you guys into throwing tantrums. Then he gets you all turned about, and suddenly before you know it your conceding losing points, and trying to spin shit that cannot be spun. He is making you hurt yourselves, and your not even seeing it for what it truly is. Have you ever come out clean from one of these shit storms. No you have not. Your argument is shot to ribbons, and left on the battlefield, and your reputation has gone to shit.

The original poster is probably a lot smarter then you give him credit for. Either that or he has flawless instincts. Either way your going to lose this fight. The only way to defeat him is to take the discussion to higher ground, or avoid the discussion. Your not going to beat him in the muck, and your definitely not going to succeed through your own fear. Which is what he has you now afraid to seem excited, or even positive. Hell it is like you have already lost.

Now I'm quite curious why a developer would choose a western genre on the console with the smallest userbase. Also, if Halo Wars succeeds in bringing (or creating) an console RTS userbase, then wouldn't you want to release that game to please them instead of trying to create a new userbase on another console? The game will be launched months after the release of Halo Wars so it wouldn't be competiting against each other but instead complementing! You could go as far and say that it would be riding the Halo Wars wake.

These reasons would suggest that the 360 would be a way better console for the game to succeed financially and that the only reason why they wouldn't is because Sony is moneyhatting them (HA! Yeah I went there!! Bite Me!).

So with Halo Wars not even on the market, Is Sony already trying to create a "Halo Wars" killer??

These are many of the same reasons it was dumb for MS to buy JRPGs for the 360, and why, if the Japanese devs actually wanted SALES, the games should have been on PS3.

XBots spent all last gen trashing gay RPGs AFAIR.

God, you and Squilliam are in crappier-than-starcraft OVERDRIVE.

in other news after they release this game they plan to make a FPS trilogy

let's see what my portuguese fellas make out of here
