Forums - Website Topics - so how many posts do you have to have before people take you seriously?

Whatever you say during your first 100/200 posts most people if they disagree with your comments dismiss you as a noob, just keep plugging away.

I'm still not taken seriously but i take my love for Sega seriously and if you curse Sega you have me to answer to lol.

As others have said, you are taken seriously based on what it is you post. The number of posts you have will not help without something substantial (and not fanboy vitriol) to show off. No offense to you Ronstar, but you should see what I am talking about.

I balance between fanboy posts and general posts so i'm not suprised some don't take me seriously, but in all honesty i'm happy just posting what i feel like saying regardless of wether someone takes it seriously or not.

Those who do reply to my posts know what i'm all about and thats all that matters.

I've been the best poster on this site since I joined. In fact, my posts have been so awe-inspiring and ahead of their time that, generally they've been misunderstood by the general public on this site. They quote my genius prose and respond in anger, bewilderment and frustration.

How is it possible for one man to hold such genius? "It can't be true!" they say! Sadly this is the fate I am resigned to. I have come to this forum too early, before the human race has evolved to realise I am right and always have been right, in everything I have ever and will ever say.

Nobody takes anybody seriously around here. You will learn that!

Having a funny coloured name helps, it makes people think you're important.

Eh?

So nobody here remembers how Zenfolder used to be called a fanboy on a daily basis?

When all he did was make well though out reasoned posts that disagreed with people. That's the trouble with this place, you can either just agree with everyone and everyone will love you...That takes about 100 posts.

Or you can say what you think and back it up, but unless you have the writing skills of a pro or make very few outright assertions that is very difficult as the trolls here normally chop you up into bits after looking for the tinyest cracks in your argument.

Or you can take the mix of those 2 that a few sly members here take (DMeisterJ) comes to mind, he and a few others will very rarely make any assertions of their own but have a go at others with sarcastic remarks that are very annoying and nowhere near as intelligent as they would like to think.

Due to the general low IQ of VGchartz members, they cannot see these members for what they are and so they get pulled into that style of posting.

So 1000 posts if you disagree with most people and can write a good argument.

1 post if you bum the PS3

5000 posts if you bum the Xbox 360

100 posts if you bum people.

That doesn't get you respect, it gets you a permaban.

Oh, and insulting VGC doesn't help.

If you bum ANY console, it will take you a good 5000 posts to earn respect. But it's very unlikely anybody who trolls a console will make it to 2000, let alone 5000, which is why you see very few members with over 2000 posts and a permaban. Rock_on and Obieslut are the only two I can think of.

Zenfoldor isn't a fanboy, he just has some opinions a lot of people disagree with. He backs them up, and debates them well, so I respect him.

Having a profile picture is important. Very important. That way, people remember you.

If you have over 1000 posts, you will get some respect.

If you have over 2000 posts, you will get a lot of respect.

If you have over 5000 posts, you will get a ton of respect.

If you have over 10,000 posts, people are sick of you and call you a spammer
