Yeah. I'm glad there will be a PS3 version of this game.

How many times do they have to say its not going ps3? Sorry, positive thinking does not equal results. =)

That being said, I was lucky enough to get a copy of Bioshock yesterday. 3 copies of bioshock for xbox were left at 2:30pm.

 The game is preaty good, if I could change one thing health and eve would regen over time!

Totally blown away. Story and presentation are amazing. Looks fantastic on my 360 with a 42" widescreen in 1080p. I don't notice any slowdowns or 'cropping' issues. I agree, whatever the root of that complaint is, it is really a non-issue.

look what some one found In the configuration file of the PC Demo of Bioshock: there are some notes for the interested about the game engine configurations options and there's a little topic about consoles.
[Console]

;; Console (XBox360, PS3) specific settings

;; StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit:
;; If this is a positive number, then instead of using the fixed per-level
;; limits, the StreamingDynamic resource will use as much memory as is
;; available as long as the total memory allocated by the game is less than
;; the specified number. In other words, StreamingDynamic will grow and
;; shrink to fit to the available memory instead of being locked to a fixed
;; budget
StreamingDynamicFloatingLimit=500

You'll find this under Program Files/2k Game/Bioshock demo/Content/configini.IBF , just open the file with notepad or wordpad . Good news for ps3 fans although most already assumed the game was coming.

Anyway reading about all the PC crashes??? Anyone here having problems?

Some can't even load the 2nd level... I tried to get more info on the 2k forum but it's down (crashed).

@Rocketpig
I don't get the logic... usually Widescreen gets an extra inch on both sides of a 4:3 screen. In Bioshock it's the opposite.... you get an extra inch on the top and bottom of a widescreen (turning it into 4:3 screen). Am I the only who thinks that's backwards?

@OP
I started playing last night on the 360, I cranked it to hard and soon realized it might of been a mistake.. but it just means I really have to take my time and go through everything. So far it's been great and I don't want it to end..

Also I've planned to harvest every little sister the first time around since it's hard and then play it again on easy and save them all

@kber81,

There is already a thread on that topic and people have already mentioned in that thread why this is not an indicator of it coming to the PS3. I won't say it will never come to the PS3 but right now there aren't any of the normal indicators that the game is going to get a port.

PS - If you want to continue the discussion on the issue please take it the thread created for that purpose and let this thread be used for its intended purpose.

I have a widescreen for PC gaming, and I expect to see more, not less of the screen!

It's the 21st century, for crying out loud. Widescreens are the standard nowadays, and games that are five years old fully and correctly support 16:9/16:10 aspect ratios. Why can't a game that was developed in 2007?

Even the developers said they implemented widescreen "correctly"... and it affects both the 360 and the PC versions.

No thanks, I'll pass until they fix/patch this very basic problem that should have never occurred in the first place.

Sucks to be those people. My 16:9 works fine on my 52 " DLP.

Just kiss the tip.

Already been discussed why its there, for now ill just stair at my xbox only sign on my bioshock case (in all there is a chance but dont say it IS, they have no confirmed anything yet)

                 With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

On to the game:

Wow just Wow ck, im feeling really bad for you at the moment.

First off lets just say, the environment is stunning, they put so much effort into alot of things, i spent a huge ammount of time on the first lvl, just reading posters and messages written in blood! no less. THe tapes you listen to help you to understand this deep story. In all the environment is top notch and it deserves a high rating just for that. There is also alot more story elements then i thought there were going to be. Choosing between good and bad and i smell betrayal.......

As for gameplay, wow.... There have been very few times where ive had this much fun at a shooting game (my favorites are usually rpgs, but games like halo etc are just as good). The variety of guns is great and up to 4 different kinds of ammo per gun! In all its just a fantastic shooter, very detailed and very realistic. There are so many ways to use the environment, so much to hack, i still love hacking security cameras so if they spot an enemy they send bots after them. I also love rigging any kind of defense mech, just great to stand there and watch

As for plasmids, they are very very entertaining. There isnt much more fun then setting someone on fire and watching them run around in circles. If there is water nearby they will jump into that, so then you can shock them. I just recently got the plasmid to make a big daddy on my team, and its pretty interesting to watch two big daddys going at it.

The enemy themselfs are very entertaining, there is nothing better then sneaking up behind someone and listening to them rant and rave and sometimes cry. Then you are forced to kill them. Its always fun to see how the AI works (which btw is amazing) by using different plasmids and different weapons.

In all a fantastic game and one of the best ive ever played. I feel bad for you ck, but you will eventually get to play this awsome game =)
