Forums - Gaming Discussion - You love RPGs, don't own a PS3 or PSP, and...

For RPGs, PSN already has:

Suikoden I

Wild Arms

Xenogears (Japan only)

Lets say PSN has hypothetically lined up, for the next few months, available for both PSP and PS3 ($5.99 USD each):

Suikoden II

Tales of Destiny

Tales of Eternia (out of print on UMD I think)

Valkyrie Profile (again, out of print on UMD I think)

Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain

Alundra

Alundra 2

Vagrant Story

Legacy of Legaia

Breath of Fire III (out of print on UMD)

Breath of Fire IV

Xenogears (everywhere)

Multi-disc games don't seem to show up on PSN for PS3/PSP, so I didn't include the obvious multi-disc RPGs everyone would want (Final Fantasy VII-IX, Thousand Arms, Lunar 1 & 2, Grandia, etc.)

Do you, on a scale from 1 to 10:

1: Don't care in the slightest -- old PS1 RPGs?  Who cares?  You haven't even heard of most of them, or you played them all, and now they are old news.

10: Run out and buy a PSP or PS3 right now, knowing your RPG addition will be covered in style for many months to come.

I'm curious, since this is actually the main reason I purchased a PSP (I missed out on a lot of PS1 RPGs, and I am a RPG addict) myself.

I have played most PS1 RPG's to death, so obviously i do not care in the slightest

That is a 1 for me

I own both and I'd much rather play RPGs I don't already own/played years ago, which is why I own a DS and the coming year have the RPG support on Wii, so I guess I go down as 1.

I already have a 360. I don't have enough money for a second console especially if its the most expensive one.

No interest in older RPGs is what you mean?  A "1" then?

I have a PSP and DS, they are all I need for my JRPG needs. Wii, PS3 nor 360 will ever be JRPG powerhouses like the handhelds are.

It's nice to have, but there's also a ton of RPGs coming to PSP in Japan...

Yeah a good amount of RPGs for PSP this year and new games are a lot better then rebuying old ones if you ask me.

Haven't played some still, can buy and play on PS2.

The DS is already a powerhouse RPG system. Wii will soon be, especially with the amazing line up this year.

Right I would like to know what JRPG are releasing which will make the Wii a "JRPG powerhouse" this year, many people saying it on this forum and all that I can think of the the FF spin off and a flag ship TO game.

That does not make the console a JRPG powerhouse, DQ X will do it but if that one releases before 2010 I will rip my balls off. Console JRPG are pathetic, it would as easily be argued that FFXIII and Versus will make the PS3 a JRPG powerhouse which simply shows how poor this gen has been for console JRPG.

BTW MH3, sales =/= quality is the definition of the MH franchise.

No I love older RPG's a lot more then newer ones. But money is the issue.
