Ninty killed GBA themselves for the sake of DS.

So then what you're saying is then that it's not beyond automatic.......correct?

Hmm ....

In fear of being attacked by Nintendo Fanboys (and I'm pro Wii)

I have wondered about Wii sales lately, I mean obviously they're low because its the time of year, but to me they just seem too low.

It has to end some time (I think Wii fans are unable to see this)

However there is some strong SW coming out for the Wii this year, but at this point it really needs to be staggering.

God help me for saing this but how long did past craze's last for (Yoyo, Tamagotchie, ect?) The Wii is in no way a "fad" but in the same way the Yoyo and Tamagotichi the Wii has become the IT thing to have.

That said I don't expect the Wii do die like those fads, because this is the VG market not some toy, I just expect the Wii to start selling on the fact its a VG console and not its widespread popularity.

Check Wiis sales in January last year... they are considerably lower than this year.

Infact, check forum posts from January '07, they say exactly what you are saying now

@Oyvoyvoyv

Well, if DS and PSP weren't released at that time, GBA would have sold better in 2005. But the fact Ninty move on with new hardware stopped GBA momentum. Guess, they start new hardware relatively early as a preventive action against PSP.

I wouldn't say considerably. In the past 4 weeks, sales are 1.6M 09 vs 1.3M 08. Considering that it is year 3 vs year 2, that growth is actually just on par with what's expected (it is just a 20% growth).

The GBA had a 40% or so drop from 04 to 05. The usual drop from year 3-4 is ~ 25%. That's a larger drop than usual, but not by a lot.

Even if Nintendo had decided to not have a GBA slot, it is doubtful that the GBA would have passed 90M. Izaaz point remains.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Nintendo's stock dropped 12% today - (-11.98%). To be honest, I don't know what the investors were expecting, but that's an astronomical drop in one day...

Thousand of posters here could analyze better than those professional analysts.

Unfortunately, that's true...

Garbage. This analyst has obviously not seen the 09 game lineup, which is a HUGE improvement over 08.

I expect sales to top 08. Take that to the bank.

Fair enough.  There is one exception.  I stand corrected.

But you'll have to concede that GBA resources were shifted to the DS and that impacted the GBA market.  We don't know what exactly would have happened if the DS came out a year later, but the GBA getting to 100M is within the realm of possibility.  It would have gotten really damn close.

Any other criticisms of my argument?
