FF13 looks better than star ocean 4 especially after last trailer.
there is more detail to enviroments and better characters design and details.

it may require many disc cutting 7.1 graphics, according to square enix.

crystal tools uses only 4 of the 6 SPUs of the ps3, so compressing texture mores cutting uncompressed 7.1 audio it can be done.

FFXIII graphically looks a tad bit better than Star Ocean 4. Can't wait for both games. I'll be playing Star Ocean 4 until Dissidia, then Dissidia until FFXIII lol

What now? Final Fantasy XIII is much farther from release and already looks much better than Star Ocean. Don't compare Tri-Ace to the main Final Fantasy teams.

Well, in the above pics SO4 looks leaps and bounds better, but i am sure FF will look nearly as good in the end

Star Ocean might be a better series than FF, but I thinks SO4 gets blown away in the graphic department.

@obamanian... mmm, no. And just by looking at those stills I can't imagine those characters will animate any better than what's shown in the recent FFXIII trailer...

OT: apart from the 360 version definitely having longer loading times and maybe very short but noticeable pauses between gameplay-cutscenes all this due to the lack of a hard-drive (which I'll assume the original PS3 game was designed to take advantage of), and say like 6 DVDs to fit the whole game... I wouldn't expect any noticeable meaningful details besides audio quality (for which you'd need a 7.1 sound setup anyway).

Hate to tell you this but you know nothing about visuals.  FFXIII is definitely better than SO4 in the graphics department.  Not that I am saying SO4 doesn't look good or anything.  In fact, SO4 looks very impressive and are well above expectations.  But overall, FFXIII>SO4 when it comes to graphics.

I have one thing to 360 fans then: good luck swapping discs. For me its PS1 days....
