Sony announced that they have shipped 4.46 million consoles for Q3(end of December)

We have PS3 at 19.26 sold to customers by the end of december

which means more than 2 million console are on the shelves which does not seem right.

It seems very reasonable to me. Sony definitely expected more sales over the holiday, because those sales were pretty bad, so then the gap between shipment and sales becomes rather big.

1.4 maybe (we have 360 at 700K difference between shipped and sold)

more than 2 mil seems rather extreme.

VGC numbers have over whelmingly been confirmed by everyone including NPD, media crate.and everyone else. If anything its over tracked by Sony's padded numbers of ghost sales

you didn't understand what i was saying then,,,,more than 2 million on shelves is insane considering that PS3 is not available in every country yet.

1.3 milion diference between shippen and sold :(due to low demand )maybe is more realistic

we have 360 700 K lower than shipped and PS3 more than 2 million lower(difference between shipped and sold)

Do you think Sony expected to be close to Microsoft this holiday? I would say yes. Don't forget Sony touting LBP as a system seller etc.

Sony got kicked real hard this holiday. Just recheck the numbers. 1 Million overshipping is definitely not out of the question, and then we have 1 million PS3's on shelves, which is not ridiculous.

Last year Sony also channel stuffed in Q3 btw.
