1, Yes, MS do make profits on the 360, maybe not much on the arcade but they do on the pro and elite models,

2, Yes, MS have managed to get the problems under control using revised models which are now very reliable (jasper), and yes, they still make money after the price cuts! something sony should learn for their PS4,

3, And yes, you are wrong, MS are in very good shape, the company (whole company, not just games) made over $4 billion in its recent report, the entertainment division also posted a $350 million profit, compare this to sonys huge losses and i'm sure you will get the picture....

Will Wright didn't let people add legs at the Cell stage. Its hard coded, its fact! You can't deny this.
