So, we need us a place to talk about METROID games. There are entirely too many instances in which discussions about these games are killed off because they got lost in dreck. So this topic is for talking about METROID, and only METROID, but it is for everything about METROID. So let's talk about the METROID games. All of them.

Metroid, as a series, is soooo awesome, that I refuse to post in a Metroid thread with a typo in it's title. Out of respect for Samus Elizabeth Aran (everyone who's middle name I don't know, I call them Elizabeth), you must remake this thread.

The main problem with Metroid is that peaked early as a series. I mean ,improving on Super Metroid might not be even possible

true it really is the best game of all time. I remember when Egm had their top 100 games ever and smack dab at number one was super metroid, it was the only time I ever truly thought the "Top whatever" list was 100 percent correct.

Metroid is my favourite series. Of course, the past two installments (Prime 3 and Prime Hunters) have been disappointing, as has been the lack of a DS Metroid.

But the mere existence of Prime 1, Fusion and Super Metroid makes it better.

As a child i spent many many many countless hours playing Metroid. It was one of the first games we finished. I will always have fond memories of it.

however, the latest instalments do not have the same feeling.

They are great games.

But how about a new sidescrolling, very difficult, metroid game?

Zero Mission was good, but short, and EASY.

Prime, Prime 2 and 3 are good. But i was not compelled to play them to completion.

the prime games are awesome but the series definitely needs to go back to side scrolling awesomeness.
