Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Capcom: Original cool games don't make money, Dead Rising port yes

I think Capcom want Z&W and Okami sales more than this compare to amount of affort they put in.(They want over 1-2 million sale maybe?)

But honestly ,both game still worth to play even it release for over a year now.

Go get'em everyone! :D

I've always thought the hardcore reaction to this game was pretty childish. Particularly game journalists, who should know better.

I've pre-ordered my copy.

Yep, out with the old and in with the new?

Some gamers just need to know when to let go, find a new hobby, a while ago I'd decided to give video games and myself just one more go, it's to the point where I'm not sure what I'm looking for... just can't jerk the 'feeling' that gaming has just gone sour or maybe it's just sour to me. For now logic tells me that the consumer is never, ever wrong and that the responsibility of content falls on the lap of the Capcom's of the world. I'm happy Capcom knows it's a business I'm sad they are willing to lie to themselves to that point... or maybe that's what they really believe...

I've met some insane developers in my time and they are some of the most unrealistic people ever, super logical but would never expect their logic to be flawed. It's like they live sheltered lives, I guess I'm hoping that the divide in the industry drives this industry into the dirt, that way game development can return to being a hobby and not a profession. I'd rather the next Mario Bro's or Street Fighter 2, not litterally Mario 2 and Street Fighter 3... just another great game, back in the day I wouldn't even have had to ask for this, it would of been understood as the way things worked.

Maybe one day.

I've been feeling more and more like this. Nice post.

Really. Then again, they've been childish for years. The way they cheer when a side other than theirs fails in some way just shows they are not mature.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

This is why I love Capcom.

Err.... Hadn't they already stated they made a profit on Zack & Wiki? Why are they flip-flopping on this?

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

Thats why 1st parties make games exclusive, and some 3rd parties are paid to make exclusives. Games are expensive to make so as long as it's also on the 360 if I want it, I dont care what other consoles its on.

PREDICTIONS:
(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

i really haven't read VGchartz rule but i don't care getting moded this time so i'm gonna say the following:

MOTHERFUCKERS, FUCKING CAPCOM

So he goes and says directly that Zack and Wiki didn't make any money (Which means break even or loss)

If Wii games are sold over a longer period theres going to be a lot more jostling, slow moving stock demands higher margins etc and more are sold at a discounted retail price correct?

Perhaps theres a need to readjust the sales estimates required for break even. (Now im not being picky so don't throw your toys at me, I understand between sales/development costs HD console games require MORE than the 1M previously stated).

Yeah 750K sounds good to me for a safely profitable game, besides who wants to just talk about breaking even? Nintendo = profit right?

Tease.

Z-Zack and Wiki didn't make any money?

I am so very, very, very disappointed.
