Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Zelda: one of the most over rated serie of all time.

While I agree the Zelda series is great, the newest iterations really feel old and boring to me. I got to the Gorons in twilight princess and wasn't really compelled to play it anymore. Maybe I am just tired of the same game every time with just a few new weapons and exactly the same premise and gameplay. Dungeon crawling went from fun to just tedious. I really have no desire to play the game except for the fact that it is indeed a Zelda game.

I know what you meen i have the same problem with Nintendo franchises lately and I hate it because Nintendo has always been my favourite developer but it feels like i'm slowly loosing interest in there games

Although I really like Zelda, I think it's the most overrated franchise in all of gaming. There is no way you can put Zelda into the same category as games like Mario and Pokemon. Zelda isn't even the best of it's genre IMO.

I view the Zelda franchise as an AAA series, but not to the legendary extend that others make it out to be.

Come on , say the truth....you have never played a Zelda game, you dislike Nintendo and just wanted to create a thread flooded of comments.

And yes...Zelda is becoming repetitive, ...fans are waiting for huge and great changes that make you feel that you are not playing the same game again and again....otherwise, it is one of the greatest franchises on the market.

Phantom Hourglass is already a huge step in this direction. I just finished it - good Lord almighty. That game was the bee's knees.

I have to say it! I really don't understand what's so great about this serie. Yeah it's pleasant, but there is nothing AMAZING with zelda games. It's just one of those average action/adventure game. I played zelda 64 a long long time game and yes, I had a good time, but nothing really amazing. Then, when I had a gamecube, I bought the windwaker, and I didn't even finish it. I think that zelda is loved because it's one of the nintendo "all time" serie and the only action/adventure serie on the console. If you own a nintendo system, you HAVE to love zelda/mario/metroid etc etc etc

I only need to look at your avatar and signature to appreciate why you think Zelda is over rated.

Well when you mark a game as overrated it is very important to describe when you played it.

It is a whole different thing the impact Ocarina Of Time made in 1998 and the impact it makes today.

I am one of the many that can play games from the past without being bothered by primitive graphics and sounds. It as the game that shines after all. On the other hand there are many that find Mario 64 for example to be very disturbing when downloaded from virtual console and played ina 42 inch tv.

For me the MOST overrated game of all time is by far Metal Gear Solid. And do not misunderstand me. It has AWESOME story, unbelievable graphics, BUT it is not a game. It is more a movie. As a game is hugely overrated. Just 3-4 hours of gameplay. As a piece of art it absolutely deserves the praise.

I can understand someone not liking The Legend of Zelda, or someone having a preference for another game, because everyone has different tastes but in no way should it ever be considered "Average" ... There are certain series (Mario, Metal Gear Solid, The Legend of Zelda, etc.) that have built a massive following because they are widely considered the best game in their genre and they are the game that defined and continues to redefine the genre.
