Another bad day for Sony.

I think that there will be an HD-DVD player for $199 in stores by this holiday season - advertised with Transformers as a free pack-in movie.

And I agree with whoever said dual-format players will be the win. They are currently $999 or so, but Blu-ray was $999 about a year ago too, if anyone remembers.

You do know Mitt that a cheap Blu-ray at around $299 from a Chinese Manufacturer should be on shelves this Christmas.

Link Please.

Hope you're not talking about the "BLUE LASER HD DVD" news back from April of this year.  Cuz that's old news and was denied by Walmart.

$199.99 in stores + tax....might as well get it now from Amazon for $230 something OTD with 5 free HD DVDs, right? :)

End of 2014 Hardware Predictions (03/03/14)

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

to all those who say blue ray or hd dvd is goona def win, no one knows so stop saying it, your just pissing people all and then we get a flame war. If you say why you THINK they are going to win state why with facts, dont just say it is because whatever you like is def gonna win

man i just wish one would win so we could get over with this

                 With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Come now, it'll be $199.98! ;P

The listed free movies are pretty bad as I recall (similar to that of the blu ray free movies). About the only thing to do is get them, and bring them to Walmart to trade in for movies you want. And if you're not willing to pull that kind of stunt, his suggested deal is better. Though by then, there will probably be similar deals on Amazon.

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.
