Um hasnt it been 8 million for like the past couple months? or am I lost...lol also I dont see the gap getting much larger since the 360 only sales roughly about 60,000 more consoles a month worldwide...

also I did not know anyone in this website worked for Microsoft wow :) now Im excited lol....your partying for what reason? you getting money from this or something?

I think you mean 60k a week.

Anyway, maybe Microsoft moneyhats enthusiasm like they moneyhat exclusivity. I didn't get my check, so I'm not all that jazzed.

Screw it, I'm helping ya'll celebrate...congrats on 28mill 360 you've earned it. Microsoft has fought a hard fought battle and their efforts are paying off, yup even in Japan because the original Xbox NEVER got close to 1 mill UNLIKE the 360, that's a very good thing. This is good for gaming because this ensures an even brighter future for the Xbox brand, hence, further expanding of the industry! I may not particularly like Microsoft's PR, but that's irrelevant, the 360 has shattered ALL doubt that it would go the distance. Not only has it gone the distance but it's increased it (8mill ahead of PS3 to be exact). Regardless of my favortism to Sony, Microsoft/Xbox 360/and it's fans have my FULL respect! Go 360 Go!!!!!!!!!!!

I fully respect you for saying that CGI!

GO 360!!!!!

Well, everyone knows that the ps3 will eventually go past the 360. It's just a matter of when. Don't try to deny it, you know im right.

How's the weather back there in 2007?

Yes, but it is a misleading generic graph since it doesn't show the whole picture. He might not have done it on purpose, but he's certainly misleading and biasing the discussion by providing a graph that is missing data.

I think either you are misunderstanding things or my style doesn't convey meanings properly. Read again my posts, there isn't a single hint about "the ps3 is down for the count". That's your quote, not mine by the way. And the reason there isn't a single hint is because it's obvious it's not. Heck, the fact you assume I'm posting under that understatement clearly shows you might be oversensitive about this issue.

But there's no denying the ps3 is in the same situation the 360 was during the first months of 2007: after a long period of time at the same price point, the sales started to go down YoY. That's what's happening to the ps3. The only thing that changed the trend for the X360 was a pricecut and I'd wager the ps3 could use one. But SCE can't afford it and until they can they will bleed marketshare.

No, it's not misleading for a synchronized-launch comparison.  Having that additional holiday boost in the graph may give 360 fans a warm and fuzzy feeling but it's meaningless for the comparison when the other consoles aren't even close to being that far along.

You misunderstand:  I didn't say you said it was down for the count, I said that the other guys were saying it WASN'T and you jumped all over them for basing that claim on supposedly twisted evidence that IMO was perfectly sound (if limited in scope).  Now that I look back it's debatable that they were being that restrained, but you still misinterpreted in any case.

Yes it is misleading because it marks the point the 360 reached the magical 199$. The ps3 started higher, so there's a good chance it will hit its 199$ spike after the 360 did.

I was jumping on those people because I dislike party-poopers.

The restrain is indeed debatable but it'd absurdly derail the thread. It could be argued that just sticking with the first result without questioning it previously (as I did and it lead me to discover the missing data) might be indeed a proof of bias-guided reasoning which is anyways a sympton of the lack of restrain we were talking about. Unless of course he didn't know what it was later found out he didn't know and thus he shouldn't be blamed for not knowing what he didn't know, which we know. However I disagree on the previous graph being "sound", or rather I'd disagree if "sound" wasn't one of those bendable words that just mean you like the whole premise - receiver bias and all that jazz.

*cough* one year lead *cough*

PS2 had a 1 yr lead on the Xbox & Gamecube and blew them away, yet no one ever mentioned the PS2's 1 yr lead, so don't even try that crap.

PREDICTIONS:
(Predicted on 5/31/11) END of 2011 Sales - Xbox 360 = 62M;  PS3 = 59M;  Wii = 97M

Explain to me how the omission of that boost you refer to could possibly be misleading when it is totally irrelevant for the purposes of the comparison that is being done because it depends on comparing "sales as of x weeks after launch" and the 360 is at a much higher x than the PS3 and Wii are.

Congrats Xbox 360, well played MS. i believe this is checkmate?

At any rate, well deserved maybe this will make SCE less stupid and realize they are the KING no more. (Sales Wise- So CHILL they still have great games.)
