After hearing rumours of The Sims 3 release date being put back we got in touch with EA to see if they would confirm it and whilst the didn’t it wouldn’t ship (sic, I think they meant "they didn't say it wouldn't ship) on its expected February 20th release date a spokesperson did say:

“We are evaluating the launch window. The game looks great and in the near future we’ll have more information.”

So it remains to be seen if one of the most anticipated PC games of the year will be with us on time, we’ll keep you informed.

That sucks, I hope it's not delayed, 'cause I'm really looking forward to the game, and if it's delayed I hope it's not for much

i own sims 2 and i still play it now, but for some reason i really cannot see what they have improved for sims 3. Its a shame the game is getting delayed but to me it is just sims 2.5, i really dont have a clue what they have changed

Yeah, it really just looks like Sims 2.5, but my wife's really excited for it.

Odd, too, because her computer's incapable of playing it, and she knows better than to try using my computer.

As long as its delayed to ensure better quality rather than because they were too ambitious with the schedule then delay away, as its EA tho I'm guessing they were too ambitious in determining when this game would be finished. The real question is - does it matter? This game seems alot like Sims 2 with prettier make-up.

The biggest change is that the game loads the entire neighborhood instead of only one house. For me that's a big chance, though I need to see how it'll work. But I agree the changes don't seem to be as radical as from Sims 1 to Sims 2.

Even with that, Sims 2 was a fantastic game, so even a Sims 2.5 would be appreciated (though I hope it's much more than that)

Doesn't phase me. I remember playing Sim City 2000 and that was the only and best Sim in my then 12 yr old mind.

My wife is pumped and or super pumped for this game, so I hope it's not delayed too long. I told her it was coming out in a couple weeks.
