Forums - Sony Discussion - PSN keeps logging me out - please help.

So I've got this Jayne-sized problem and I'm hoping that there's a quick and painless solution for it.  PSN keeps signing me out for no gorram reason.  It's gotten so bad that I cannot get through a single deathmatch in CoD4, nor can I log into Home.  I have a shiny new router, lightning-speed Internet, and I'm not experiencing any connection problems with any of my other equipment.  My computer (which is four feet away to the right of my PS3, in which the router sits gracefully halfway between), reports strong signal strength.  I have even disabled that sharing thingy that reportedly causes these sorts of problems.  So what the frak?  Has anyone had to deal with this before?  I just want to shoot people.  Politely.

This has happened to me. Usually lasts about a day. I don't know why. It sucks, but it will pass.

This is strange. Check your connection status under network settings, do you have Nat type 2? If not, you should try enabling upnp on your router and ps3 and if that still doesn't work, open all psn ports on your router. Just google psn port numbers.

If all else fails, put your ps3 in your routers DMZ

Do you have anything background downloading? If so, try pausing it.

I don't know about anybody else, but when I'm trying to download something, I can't seem to stay logged into the PSN and this has been happening for a while.

well. maybe something is wrong with PSN... I have been trying to get on for the last couple of hours to play CoDWaW and it wont let me, I know my internet is fine cuz I can surf on the web on the PS3 still.

Sony really needs to keep PSN up better, It seems to go down alot...

Have you played with a Nintendo or Microsoft device recently ? any aura other than the Sony aura will disrupt you connection to the PSN .... purify yourself.

It is the wireless signal of the PS3 controller interfering with your router signal.   I had the same problem, it shows a strong signal strength, but it causes very brief disconnects/weak signal moments, which log you out of the PSN.

Move the router away from the PS3/where you sit with control (like other rooms away), or since it is so close run a wire out of your router and connect your PS3 with a wired connection.

my router is downstars, and I have a 92% signal, my connection is good... PSN is down... at least for me... maybe CoDWaW is down??? But it does say "You have been logged out of the PSN...."

it is really annoying.. I dont have much time to play usually and it pisses me off when the PSN crashes. For as much as people diss nintendo's online, I have never had Mario Kart go down on me (only Wii game I have ever played online)...

This is the 4th or 5th time PSN has gone to shit, this keeps happening, I am going to have to think about getting something else (tries not to think about having to get a 360.......)

happens to me to, every now and then. It will pass. Try a different connect. If you're wireless try wired, vice versa aswell.

4 ≈ One

I would like to thank everyone for their advice. I haven't had the chance to try these out yet, but the number of possible solutions is encouraging.

PSN has never gone down on me and I get the feeling that I use it a lot more than you. I think you guys have router problems. If your connection status doesn't say "Nat-type 2" then something is wrong
