Forums - Gaming Discussion - You are a FF fan, and you own a Wii...

A, otherwise never play it. They're fun games, but they're not worth buying a console for.

@Cord: Well, technically all you have to do is to bend over when dealing with older gentlemen.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

I don't really care for JRPGs on the Wii. About as close as I'll come to accepting that control system for that type of game is TLoZ, a game that's not really an RPG and involves a lot of aiming/movement, something not found in your typical JRPG.

IMO, JRPGs work best with a traditional controller. Something that you can lean back in your chair, sit for six hours at a time, and play slowly with little physical interaction (see Folklore's annoying "jerk the soul out of the creature" feature as where you can go wrong with motion controls in those types of games).

Rocketpig, that's why you have the option of the classic controller.

Or, hell, holding the Wiimote sideways. It's about how complicated "traditional" JRPGs are anyway.

And no, if FFXIII was coming to the Wii, and I only had a Wii, I would not buy an HD console only for that game which was already coming out on my Wii. I find it difficult to imagine the kind of person who would.

I hate the classic controller. Too thin and it doesn't fit my hands well. Even the Wiimote sideways isn't very comfortable IMO. Give me a 360 controller or a DS3 for JRPGs any day of the week over anything the Wii offers.

Get some smaller hands.

I should not have to explain this to you, I assumed you were on the up and up.

Though, to be fair, you didn't actually answer the OP's question.

Well, I think if you're a real fan, you'll buy whatever console the game came to. That's what fans do. If you won't, you're just someone who enjoys him some FF not a fan.

For example, I consider myself an FF and SMT fan. I'd have to buy whatever consoles they went to. luckily for me, they've stuck with my favorite line of consoles so far

The question in the OP is this.

Assume you are a Wii only owner, and there is a version of FFXIII coming to the Wii. Would you buy an HD console to play that version instead, if you only own a Wii up to that point?

B. must play versus nomura heaven

Looks like I misinterpreted. In that case, it would make sense to just get it for wii.

I'm not a wii-only owner though but thats what I'd do if I was one. JRPGs don't have online or anything super that could only be done on HD consoles and end up gimping the wii experience significantly.
