same mistake, sending RPGs the 360 way, haven't developers learned this already?

Trying to have them stay on PS3 only doesn't work as well as having them go portable, or staying on the PS2 it appears.  Outside of WKC in Japan, exactly what JRPGs have done well on the PS3?

Outside of WKC, what JRPGs have been released exclusively on PS3, or, for multiplats, at the same time as the 360 incarnation?

Persona 5 = ps2; mark my words

if it does happen, at least they should max-out the PS2 (and support Widescreen and Pro-Scan). if Odin Sphere can bring the PS2 to its knees, then so should SMT.

It most defiantly won't be on the PS3. Remember Atlus has already released 3 games on 360 and 4 on wii.

None on the PS3.

That is true, though most of the games you mention are not internally developed by Atlus, only published. That would mean that the only current gen console which has received a Atlus developed game is the Wii.

Considering that PS3 and 360 have had moderate success with JRPGs, wouldn't multiplat be the way to go if Atlus chooses HD over Wii?

That's why I'm putting my money on wii or another PS2 (since the engine is there and they can just reuse assets again, like they did between P3 and P4

Atlus has been known to continue supporting the previous Sony Systems until Dev costs went down and their understanding of the new System went up. I think Persona 5 will see a PS3 exclusive release. I mean if WKC can sell 300k in 2 weeks and it being a New IP Persona 5 which is an established franchise and has seen a significant boost in sales in Japan can also see a nice amount of profit as a Exclusive

Black Women Are The Most Beautiful Women On The Planet.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

For people saying handheld, I highly doubt that Atlus is going to put the next main series installment on anything other than a console, and, although I'm less sure with this one, I feel the same about Persona.

I think that they'll find a home on either PS360 or Wii, so that their PS2 fanbase can migrate, and continue their trend of releasing remakes and ports on the PSP. Devil Survivor and Etrian Odyssey will be the series' that occupy the DS.

Continuing with the PS2 is also a very good option considering how well P4 did, but they're probably thinking of moving on, since staying on PS2 likely won't be a viable option for much longer.

Well, PS1 to PS2 was going from a highly popular console to another highly popular console. PS2 to PS3 is a very different scenario.

To the OP:

I own and it's pretty lousy.

Yeah, Operation Darkness really got Atlus excited about HD development.
