Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS3's 2009 exclusive list may not be so impressive after all.

Well, the wii clearly wins for me, but i'll keep an eye in that God of War III, of course

You know what is funny? First off they leave PS3 exclusives off the list and add non-announced 360 exclusives to the list.

Then we come to another issue. The "Sony announces year in advance" bullshit that is becoming overused. R2 and MS2 were both announced and released in 2008. MAG announced last year, then coming this year. Alan Wake was announced years ago, same with Halo Chronicles, and Splinter Cell, oh yeah Huxley too!

Then we get to another problem here. The "Microsoft has unannounced games for 2009" and the "With Sony's penchant for announcing their release schedule years in advance, it's unlikely they have any more surprises in store for the PS3 in 2009."

Maybe if these people would keep up on gaming instead of spewing out nothing but bullshit they would realize the "up their sleeves" argument is dumb when you consider that Sony has said this same exact thing not too long ago. I will see if I can locate the article, but if I am not mistaken Sony announced this before MS announced that they too have unannounced games for 2009.

I swear, either people have no short term memory or they are just so biased and/or ignorant that they have no place in gaming journalism.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

No, the reason is that Wii has more exclusives.

True but nobody (should) care how many "exclusives" a console has. (Normal) people care about the number of great games coming out for a console exclusive or not. And in this category many games are exclusively NOT on the Wii.

If 200 games are available on Ps3 and 360 and 20 games are available exclusively for Wii, the Wii has more exclusives but the games lineup for PS3 and 360 is still bigger. Counting exclusives only matter if you decide between a Ps3 or a 360 or if you decide between a HD console or a Wii.

In other words exclusives are nice to have but in the end the only thing that matters is which games are on your system to play.

Lol why is the Wii even put in to this article? its obvious that 90 percent of their games DO NOT come out on other consoles...the Wii should have been kept out the list it's irrelevant to the topic...and The Ps'3 and 360's line up both look alright...the Ps3 got better titles in my opinion

Very well said, couldn't agree more. Anyone who says Sony announce all their games years in advance and MS wait until the last minute is lying through their teeth. And you're right, Shuhei Yoshida recently said they still have a couple of unannounced games for their '09 lineup. My guess is R & C and whatever Team ICO have in store.

Yeah, then people want to know why they keep getting called hypocrites. -_-

Oh yeah, LOL @ White Knight Chronicles getting bumped to 2010. How did they come to that conclusion?

Agreed 100%

I am dissapointed with the OP of this thread. Some crackhead writes biased drivel and you just give him legitimacy by posting about it. I think this is a case of some people desperate to create threads on some topic whatever it be. And yes if that topic is being critical of one console or another so much the better coz its sure to attract attention. Its just shameful.

It is better to die on one's feet

then live on one's knees

In my opinion ps3 got 3 exclusives thats decent and those are:

Killzone 2
Uncharted 2
God of War 3

God of war 3 will NOT be released in 2009, the reason I believe it will not be released this year is because it was shown THIS YEAR for the FIRST TIME in VIDEO ONLY format, which means, the game is NOT coming out this year, I have NEVER seen a game first shown in VIDEO ONLY format and then gets released the same year it was first shown, if there was a gameplay video shown of God of War 3 this year I would have no problem believing it will be released this year. Killzone 2 was first shown in VIDEO ONLY format in 2005 and is NOW getting a release, almost 4 years later.

that leaves only 2 decent games coming to the PS3 in 2009.

Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2

Now on to 360,

GTA 4: Lost and Damned (I don't care what anybody says any game with 10-20 hours of gameplay counts as a full game.)
Halo 3: ODST (It's Halo, nuff said)

Now looking at the timelines Killzone 2 will have to prove that it can beat the best shooting game this generation, Gears of War 2 (which is now fixed for online), yes, I know Gears of War 2 is a 2008 title, but it's a new game, it's only been out for 2 months and will only be out for 3 months on feburary 7th the month Killzone 2 is coming out but its still the shooter that Killzone 2 is going to have to prove it can beat on the Xbox 360, not Halo, I think we all know who will win that battle, then you got GTA 4: Lost and Damned, Sony has no answer to this in quarter one, then later in the year you have Uncharted 2 going up against Halo 3: ODST, again, we all know whats going to happen there.

PS3 MAY have the most exclusives coming out in 2009, but it's not about just 2009, it's about the Xbox 360s lineup to date versus the PS3s, that's why I threw in Gears of War 2 as a game thats competiting in 2009, when you think about it Gears of War 2 was released late 2008, November 7th to be exact, so it's practically a 2009 title anyway.

That leaves 3 games on Xbox 360,

Gears of War 2, GTA 4: Lost and Damned, and Halo 3 ODST.

that's 2 on PS3 versus 3 on Xbox 360.

LOL @ PS3s lineup.

For 2009, PS3 got 2 exclusives thats decent and 1 exclusive thats good and those are:

Killzone 2
Uncharted 2
God of War 3 (this is the good one)
