what i just described is a downsized port, one that could never do what the PS3 does for this game. Proof that PS3 is more then a little more powerful? just look to the developers. many 360 game developers say they r running out of breathing room. RAGE, downsized due to 360 limitations, Mass Effect, chugs like nobodies business because 360 can barely handle all the calculations,Red alert, had to leave out physics, the CELL, currently used in the worls most powerful super computer. Pretty much it comes down too PS3 developers do not complain about hinderance of hardware, rather the difficulty of it. 360 devs DO all the time. And the dual disc clause is null and void against anything other then RPGs. Do u really wanna play a 10 to 13 hr shooter on 2 discs? i think not...

Rage was downsized due to the DVD space on the Xbox 360. ID didn't want to pay for multiple DVDs and they didn't want to spend the time to use advanced procedural synthesis techniques due to development costs. This has nothing to do with the processing power of the Xbox 360.

Mass Effect was Bioware's first attempt at the Unreal Engine. Compared to other Unreal 3 engine releases, especially those on the PS3, it is very advanced.

The Cell processor is very powerful, however, games don't lend themselves to the type of processing requires by games. Games require a lot of general purpose operations, something which the cell processor lacks in. It makes perfect sense for super computers, not so much for games. However, despite being inefficient at games, you are correct that its sheer power is enough to make it a viable processor for games. However, if you compare both the Xbox 360 and PS3 as machines meant to play games, they are very close, with the PS3 having a slight edge. If you don't believe me, go ask the chief architect of the Cell processor. He has already said they are essentially equal at games.

If Xbox 360 developers spent as much time, effort, and money as game developers do on the PS3, the 360 games would greatly benefit from it. However, that is the beauty of the Xbox 360. Little effort, good games. Why put a lot of effort for a slightly better game? Simply not worth it financially.

And yes, I wouldn't mind spending a few seconds switching DVDs. I know Killzone 2 doesn't have an install, but I would rather switch discs than wait for an annoying install. Or you can simply install the game onto the Xbox 360 Hard Drive and never switch dics.

Also, development difficulties is a hindrance of hardware. They just can't get the hardware to do what they want so they have to work around it. People that complain about the Xbox 360 also complain that the Xbox 360 hardware can't do what they want so they have to work around it. Both systems have their strengths and their weaknesses.

HAHAHA omg, you know ps3 have 8 - 9 threads 6 a full 3.2ghz each with 256kb cache +1 PPE 3.2ghz also threaded?, if you try threading with the 360 cpu you will get 1.6ghz threaded cores sharing 1mb?

each theorically can perform 25gflops. (yeah and those are dumb cores as 360 fans like to call it).

something the same cell architect said, u have can more things running in the ps3, better AI, physics, animations, post processing.

but if you don't require all that power thats where the 360 cpu shines its easier get the things going than syncing 8-9 threads.

and killzone 2 by a good mile its one of the best console game graphics (not the best since many games are comming inthe future) , physics, animations, particles effects, and doens't require any install! none at all.

only one disc that well could be 25gb - 50gb on 2x drive blu ray drive. >_o if they could many developers ones, most of the titles that require install are multiplatform games any way, and the load timess were cut from 10s to 2s.

except for metal gear solid 4, but that game is huge though.

130 employees working on a game for 5+ years with a budget of 30-60 million dollars will get you a game unlike any other.

Hey now... don't spread common sense around like it's free please.

lol

What does time and money have to do with it? The game out does all console equivalents. If anything that would show that putting in the time and money for a PS3 game extends farther then that of the 360's capabilities.
