Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sony says PS3 only console powerful enough for Killzone 2

@ jetrii
the fact that the 360 cannot play anything greater then what is allowed on dvd is indeed a limitation of the system. And when the 360 is so much easier to develop for it should b simple tapping into its full potential, which is exactly what devs have bn saying. As much as many dont want to admit it, Sony has proven it time and time again. While graphics on the systems are indeed comparable, physics processing power is not. it seems that when most hear PS3 is more powerful they think graphics. while the PS3 CAN pump out better graphics then 360(KZ2, HR,Uncharted) that is not the only factor of power. i am not accusing u of this. look at L4D and Heavenly Sword. Both boasted HUGE enemy numbers on screen at once yet only 1 of them ever shows it.HS actually creates battles of 1000+ enemies with minimal sttuttering. At most L4D is doing about 100 seperate AI enemies with many glitches.

In the end which is more powerful is irrelevant , rather which can give you the greater experience is important .

this is complete bs, the ps3 is a very powerful system. but the 360 can do anything graphically the ps3 can if the right dev does the game. also crysis, can be done on console's if the dev's actually took the time to optimized it for the systems. it could look close to the pc version.

When I see a PS360 game where you can get close to walls and not see a blurry mess of a texture, I will believe Crysis can be done on those consoles without being severely downgraded. Of course that might be quite hard with the low amount of graphical memory the consoles have.

Metal Gear Solid 4 : Guns of the patriots.

it have zoom feature even in cutscences, the game was perfect in each texture! =D

If this screenshot is representative, those textures are nowhere near as detailed as Crysis's. Look at the wall on the right edge of the screenshot.

Due to art direction, not technical details which is what we're discussing here.

no, that just a crappy screenshot, general textures expecially from the characters are better. thats a cave, and generally its all dark.

i was talking about more the zoom feature, i can zoom in them and they don't get severly downgraded.

It did in tech according to spike IGN gamespot etc XD

The screenshot seems fine, for example the textures on the character are obviously more detailed as you say... My point is that it shouldn't even been compared to Crysis as far as detail goes. Not that that's surprising of course, it's not even fair to compare a game running on 256 MB graphical memory to one running on 1 GB + of graphical memory and much more GPU power. Well I wasn't the one who introduced Crysis into the debate :P
