Forums - Nintendo Discussion - ..what? Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was bad?

I got Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for the GCN way back in 2001 and it was instantly my favorite Sonic game. When I would try and play the Genesis Sonic games, they were way to boring. All I really had to do was hold down the right d-pad button and press A every 5 seconds. =/

I dunno. But when I saw that it got bad reviews, I was like "wat?!"

Did anyone else have Sonic Adventure 2: Battle? Am I the only one that holds it as the best Sonic game so far?

it was actually really good, specialy if you compare it to shadow or sonic06, maybe the second best 3D sonic game after SATSR

I'd give it a 9.4 outa ten. If it had DC chao raising, 9.7/10
Fantastic game imo, despite some bad parts that are easily overlookable *cough*rougemissions*cough*

Yeah, I really liked it too (albeit I never owned it).

It wasn't as high paced as most of the other Sonics, and I liked that. You had a bit more control.

Also, chao garden is awesome beyond words :D (it's a bit ironic that I wrote that...)

I hated being Rogue/Knuckles though... Luckily, my friend (who owned it) liked them the most.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Sonic Adventure 2 is my favorite 3D Sonic. Nostalgia just blinds people's perception. It's the reason why people think Mortal Kombat 1-3 and PKMN R/B/Y are the only good games in their respective series. I've been playing Sonic 2 quite a bit and I like it more because it's 2D and not as clunky.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Sonic adventure 2 on the Dreamcast........... those were the days.

EPIC final battle between Sonic and Shadow.

I actually had the same exact experience with Sonic Adventure 2. Bought it on the cheap around 2002. Loved that game. Even the Rogue/knuckles missions. Even the music, which a lot of people seem to hate.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

I really enjoyed the game, I still remember me and my cousins taking turns playing it.

Only had the DC version, but kickass game nonetheless.

I really enjoyed Sonic Adventure 2 battle. I spent months working on getting a really good chao. I am so proud of my invisible all S chao. A friend of mine was able to get all 180 emblems. So I copied his data so I could get the shiny black egg and green hill zone.

I thought the soundtrack was great for that game. Especially all the sonic levels and the opening theme.
